What's new

The end of the deal, hopes, delusions and treasons

It’s pathetic that iranian leadership thinks a stolen ship is somehow going to make South Korea risk its 1.6T USD economy (4x the size of Iranian economy) to release frozen funds.

The world revolves around the dollar for now.

Agreed, it's sad that Iran has to resort to such actions in the first-place in order to have something to act as leverage against the country they want to garner concessions from.

I've got no idea on what should or can be done to remedy the problem outside of coming back to the JCPOA (which has been compromised, regardless of the the many Iranian concessions) or outright 'tough it out': really beginning to get this feeling that the Americans will just wait it out and let Iran fall under its own weight, then come in and pick at the corpse (if that's indeed the direction Iran is heading in). As you've correctly said, the United States is still strong (yet waning globally) and the world isn't going to torpedo their trade-deals or economy all in the name of backing Iran no matter the cause.

Rock and a hard-place......got nothing more to add.

I remember the 2011-2015 years well. It was a lot worse than now.

- Assad days were numbered. Syria was falling apart and the next station was supposed to be Tehran. Why would you want to deal with Iran when they would fall apart soon after Damascus.
- ISIS was taking over the whole Iraq.
- We could barely make gasoline, let a lone exporting it.
- A lot less domestic industries.
- Yemen in the hands of KSA.
- Sudan just gone.
- Iran was waiting miserably for S300 delivery Haha
- Blocking Hormuz was unbelievable and a PURE joke let alone other straights.
- Attacking KSA infrastructures from Yemen was unbelievable and a joke.
- Military option was serious and on the table.
- Nuclear ambiguity was not as strong. Underground missile bunkers were not known to this extent.

It’s a joke quite frankly.

Anyone that knows anything about logistics knows that for Israeli jets to even make it to Iran would need so much help from US that it would basically be a US operation.

This talk of Israel “going alone” is an insult to most peoples intelligence.

Bibi and most of the Zionists have used Iran as some bogeyman to control Israeli domestic politics and suppress concerns over the true issues plaguing Israel. A playbook taken straight of the 1984 Book.

BiBi loves Iran and will never attack, after all without Iran BiBi would have been voted out of office long long ago.

Yes, everyone knows what he has done, turning Tehran into a modern city, even tourists know that.

Turning raw land at the end of city into such an enormous economic and touristic facility will bring huge annual profit for municipality, let alone the increase of the price of nearby lands which also belonged to municipality, so no one talks about your BS, not even Reformists.

but again I'm against Qalibaf because I'm against these malls and their capitalism culture.
the process of turning Tehran into a modern city stated way before him at the time of a guy called Karbaschi.
nevertheless look at the list of the mayors of Tehran you see many of them were elected for just several month , honnestly what you expect from a guy who is mayor for t most 3-4 month

As a simple Iranian citizen who lives in Iran and has to face consequences of US sanctions, day by day I am become more convinced that Iran should not only leave JCPOA, we should also use this opportunity to leave the imperialistic treaty known as NPT.

There has been no rewards for staying in this deal we niether benefited economicaly nor we have any security guaranties.

As long as we don't posses nuclear weaponary , our nation faces grave threats by the same weapons possesed by certain nations, it is Islamuc republic duty to ensure our nation's right to exist.

Tell that to Khamenei

There was a good Financial post article about the same thing you mentioned...the article said more and more Iranians are asking why not have the bomb...that is the only way to stop the threats and allow the nation to proceed with life...so SL needs to consider this very soon.

I'm glad more and more Iranians are starting to see reality for what it is.

The bomb provides certain benefits and cons that cannot be ignored in the face of Iran's current predicament.

I'd love to see Israel try and stop Iran now, they're clearly getting cold feet about it and don't have any good options left.

The cat and mouse game should end soon..there comes a time that playing politics are no longer feasible.
Iran went fully nuclear capable in 2003-2004...

Iran should go nuclear powered this year ...test it openly...history will record that Iran under Joe Biden became a nuclear power nation in 2021....it will be a lovely year..

Let's hope so....

Zero chance Iran can detonate a nuclear bomb in 2021.

It would need at least 5,000 IR-2M or more advanced centrifuges to enrich to weapons grade uranium and at a sufficient amount for a nuclear weapon.

Issue is prior to 2003 Iran had no IR-2M and by the time it installed them in Fordow IAEA was tracking centrifuge production facilities.

Right now it has less than 1000 installed.

This is why most states use plutonium during their nuclear bomb sprint. Much easier to hide. Iran’s only pathway to a plutonium bomb (Arak reactor) was foolishly negotiated away by the Republic. The West and Zionist feared Arak more than any other facility Iran had.

You are right on all accounts...what is visible and public....I am a firm believer that Iran had and still has a parallel military program just like the space program...I base that "belife" on rational thinking...but until that nuclear flash occurs deep inside iranian desert it remain just that..a belief.

parallel SECERT nuclear enrichment programs happen with plutonium not uranium.

Iran had less than 300 IR-1 centrifuges in 2003. Its centrifuge making facilities and motor creation were well known to intelligence agencies shortly there after. Not to mention Iran openly declared them and the entire supply chain.

So unless Iran had 5000+ IR-2M centrifuges built prior to 2004 hidden somewhere AND was able to hide a significant amount of uranium able to build at least 3-4 nuclear weapons then the chances of a SECERT enrichment program is low. Especially given how many secret sites have been uncovered by intelligence agencies in the years since that had ties to the pre-2003 research program.

I won’t say it’s impossible, but very very unlikely.

Just two facts:

You cant hide plutonium production due to neutrinos produced, but you can hide uranium production.

You can also enrich HEU with IR-1, IR-2m which is different to the P-2, just enrichs faster and cheaper.
