The Ganga Risala

Yes its a myth, even you have failed to proved that India was ruled by foreign power for thousands of years as you first claimed in your post. Now don't back track from thousands of years o few hundreds of years.

And whole of India was never under any Muslim rule, forget about south Asia.

In south Asia there is Nepal, Bhutan, Myanmar and Sri Lanka also.

Aryans - who were they :

The Aryans were semi-nomadic Nordic Whites, perhaps located originally on the steppes of southern Russia and Central Asia, who spoke the parent language of the various Indo-European languages.

Indo - Aryans

Aryans, or more specifically Indo-Aryans, make their first notable appearance in history around 2000-1500 BC as invaders of Northern India. The Sanskrit Rig Veda, a collection of religious texts still revered by modern Hindus, records (often enigmatically) their gradual subjugation of the dark-skinned inhabitants, the Dasyus: e.g. "Indra [=Norse Thor, Celtic Taranis] has torn open the fortresses of the Dasyus, which in their wombs hid the black people. He created land and water for Manu [=Aryan man]"; "lower than all besides, hast thou, O Indra, cast down the Dasyus, abject tribes of Dasas"; "after slaying the Dasyus, let Indra with his white friends win land, let him win the sun and water"; "Indra subdued the Dasyu color and drove it into hiding." With all-outstripping chariot-wheel, O Indra, Thou, far-famed, hast overthrown the twice ten kings ...
Thou goest from fight to fight, intrepidly

The Aryans were remarkably expansionist, and almost everywhere they went they conquered and subjugated the indigenous peoples, imposing their languages and (to varying degrees) their religious beliefs on the natives, and receiving in turn contributions from the peoples whom they conquered.

Aryan invasion is still a theory (not yet proven) and there are people who support Migration out of India theory too.

Good lord !

The Bikaner Risala comprised of proud sons of the soil . This is a wonderful thread for someone like me who has seen the Risala in its hey days. These units fell victim to modernisation & technology.

The BSF still maintains them to good effect. The units amalgamated to the IA rightfully proudly maintain their linage to the past.

..and we cannot grow over the usual prejudices.

Corrrection - No Muslim ruler has ever subjugated Tamil Nadu (in wich the Kaveri Basin comes ).Infact modern Tamil Nadu and Kerala were the only states that were not under Muslim rule during any part of their history

Cheers

Correction. Those we not the only ones. No Mughals/turks/Lodhis were ever able to capture a tiny bit of the north eastern states. Besides several attacks. The turks destroyed our Nalanda in the east (now Bihar). They killed most of the monks there. The mughals could rule upto bengal.

If you want to know how a handful of soldiers can defeat an entire Mughal army assisted by Rajput kings like Ram Singh , below is an example battle. The best of war tactics and war ethics prevailed. Very less known though as most Indian people hardly knows:

As for northeast I stand corrected.
But Please dont get me started on the Rajputs....Brave,devoted as they were...many of them were traiterous and joined hands with the mughals.
And indeed the Rajput states like Mewar,Marwar were at some time under the Mughal rule.

In that count the Marathas were better..Though they were defeated they never surrendered and kept fighting instead of siding with the Mughals.

If the Rajputs were united at that time Indian could have never come under Muslim rule.Instead they were fragmented and never gave a united front to the Muslim invaders.

Aryan invasion theory is a highly controversial proposed by the Europeans specially the British. New genetic map (y-hologroup) as well as other evidences like for not even single time Vedic Aryans mentioned about their ancestors outside India. While they mentioned repeatedly that Aryavarta the land where rivers like Saraswati, Indus and Ganges flow are the region of the Aryans.

mtDNA based on mainly two haplogroups in India shows that Indians only related to the Russians, Kyrgyz etc and little bit with Scandinavian countries. Another is purely originated in India. So if human migrated to India that is only during pre-historic period.

OMG Pakistanis lives on so many myths and illusions.

Aryan-Dravidian divide a myth: Study

HYDERABAD: The great Indian divide along north-south lines now stands blurred. A pathbreaking study by Harvard and indigenous researchers on ancestral Indian populations says there is a genetic relationship between all Indians and more importantly, the hitherto believed ``fact'' that Aryans and Dravidians signify the ancestry of north and south Indians might after all, be a myth.

``This paper rewrites history... there is no north-south divide,'' Lalji Singh, former director of the Centre for Cellular and Molecular Biology (CCMB) and a co-author of the study, said at a press conference here on Thursday. :bunny::bunny:

Senior CCMB scientist Kumarasamy Thangarajan said there was no truth to the Aryan-Dravidian theory as they came hundreds or thousands of years after the ancestral north and south Indians had settled in India. :bunny:

The study analysed 500,000 genetic markers across the genomes of 132 individuals from 25 diverse groups from 13 states. All the individuals were from six-language families and traditionally ``upper'' and ``lower'' castes and tribal groups. ``The genetics proves that castes grew directly out of tribe-like organizations during the formation of the Indian society,'' the study said. Thangarajan noted that it was impossible to distinguish between castes and tribes since their genetics proved they were not systematically different.

The study was conducted by CCMB scientists in collaboration with researchers at Harvard Medical School,
Harvard School of Public Health and the Broad Institute of Harvard and MIT. It reveals that the present-day Indian population is a mix of ancient north and south bearing the genomic contributions from two distinct ancestral populations - the Ancestral North Indian (ANI) and the Ancestral South Indian (ASI).

``The initial settlement took place 65,000 years ago in the Andamans and in ancient south India around the same time, which led to population growth in this part,'' said Thangarajan. He added, ``At a later stage, 40,000 years ago, the ancient north Indians emerged which in turn led to rise in numbers here. But at some point of time, the ancient north and the ancient south mixed, giving birth to a different set of population. And that is the population which exists now and there is a genetic relationship between the population within India.''

The study also helps understand why the incidence of genetic diseases among Indians is different from the rest of the world. Singh said that 70% of Indians were burdened with genetic disorders and the study could help answer why certain conditions restricted themselves to one population. For instance, breast cancer among Parsi women, motor neuron diseases among residents of Tirupati and Chittoor, or sickle cell anaemia among certain tribes in central India and the North-East can now be understood better, said researchers.

The researchers, who are now keen on exploring whether Eurasians descended from ANI, find in their study that ANIs are related to western Eurasians, while the ASIs do not share any similarity with any other population across the world. However, researchers said there was no scientific proof of whether Indians went to Europe first or the other way round.
