There is a theory of media called Propaganda theory according to which if you repeat something often enough, eventually the public believes it. This is what Imran Khan knows too well. His whole political career is based on traction by propaganda. His propaganda about everything and anything either true or false has made him what he is today.

He is a single trick pony who is pushing his luck with the only thing he knows i.e. propaganda. For all of his allegations he will have to come out with concrete proof that can be proved in a court of law, not in streets and definitely not through marches and tsunamis every other week.

It is sad that Imran Khan‘s name has become synonymous with U-Turn. Chief justice Iftikhar was his hero , now his arch enemy. Fakhruddin Ebrahim was credible and competent, now : old ,weak and unsuitable for the job. The election setup was fair but as IK lost the first seat ,it somehow turned out to be corrupt.

He had a golden opportunity to prove his vision in KPK and also gain something which he and his team lack i.e. experience. But he has proved time and again that he lacks all hindsight and common sense when it comes to politics. If he puts his efforts on developing KPK, he can use it as a model to convince the rest of the country that PTI is the best among the rest.

Nawaz League is no band of saints but they are on to some concrete projects that are bound to change the country if only they are allowed to complete their term. Moreover, unlike other parties, only the leadership of N-League holds considerable credibility on the international level. This is evident by Saudi funding to stabilize economy, Chinese investment in energy projects and Turkish facilitation in infrastructure development, just to name a few.

It is no doubt that IK has an educated and highly qualified team but N-League has a much more experienced team Sartaj Aziz, Ahsan Iqbal and Ishaq Dar etc These people are experts in their fields and common sense dictates that it is better to take your chances with an experienced person than a wanna-be.

In my opinion, the most important deficiency in N-League’s government is the prevailing family politics. They should immediately remove their family members from key positions especially Mariam Nawaz and Abid Sher Ali. This alone will be their downfall if they don’t realize it now.

Finally, it goes to IK’s credit that the youth has been mobilized in the political process. This was not the case in previous elections where youth and educated elite kept itself aloof of the electoral process. This in itself is a big change.

They should now focus on mobilizing other portions of society and creating a model of development in KPK, only then they can hope to succeed in next elections.

There allegations of rigging might be true in some electorates but for that they must show patience with the legal process. They should also avoid magnifying this issue and creating chaos with presenting allegations as facts.

In my opinion IK is gambling with his politics and he doesn’t realize that its not only his politics but the struggle of hundreds of thousands of PTI voters which is at stake. So, he should rise above his over ambitious targets and think about his voters too. Patience is what the whole PTI needs right now.

Finally, Mian sahib has paid a heavy price in return of military support for implementing article 245.Musharraf is being released soon.

At the end IK and Nawaz are politicians and we must see their actions and statements in the light of politics. Let’s, pray that whatever turn this political scenario takes, serves the public in the best way.
