Tibetan Festival: the Grandest Horse Racing Festival in Tibet. Beautiful land, beautiful culture, beautiful people!!

Damxung Horse Riding Festival, also known as the Dangjiren Horse Racing Festival, has a history of more than 300 years, and was listed as a National Intangible Cultural Heritage in 2008. The name Dangjiren in Tibetan means a grand party. Every year, from August 8th to August 14th, the locals in Damxung country will gather together to have horse race competition and traditional cultural performances for 7 days. During the Damxung Horse Racing Festival, local Tibetan competitors in the horse races wear colorful long-sleeved clothing and hats, and their horses are also decorated with colorful ornaments. Besides, there are also traditional Tibetan sports competitions held during the week, such as yak racing and Tibetan weightlifting. While watching the competitions, you can also enjoy the Tibetan ethnic performances, like Guozhuang Dance and Folk Song duet. Since more and more tourists come to experience this festival during recent years, it has turned out to be one of the most bustling horse racing festivals in Lhasa, Tibet. Now, enjoy the 2020 Damxung Horse Racing Festival with our video.

Dalai Lama followers in India ( mostly offsprings of old Tibetan aristocrats who followed Dalai Lama into India, they lost all their slaves in Tibet ).

Sorry for them, if Dalai Lama still ruled Tibet, these young Indian Tibetans could still be wealthy slave owners inheriting all the wealth and slaves from their fathers and grandfathers.

Tibetan Festival: Celebrate the Liveliest Festival - Shoton Festival in Lhasa, Tibet 2020
Shoton Festival is the most important festival in Tibet. It is held on the last day of the sixth month in the Tibetan calendar and falls on August 19th, 2020. Here we show you key moments of the Shoton Festival in Lhasa, Tibet. From the early morning in Drepung Monastery to the afternoon in Norbulingka, this is how the real Tibetans celebrate the Shoton Festival. The unveiling of the 500-square-meter embroidered Thangka portrait of the Buddha is the highlight of the Shoton Festival and marks the beginning of the week-long holiday. Thousands of Tibetans coming from all over Tibet to get a blessing from the holy Thangka. After the most special ceremony of the Shoton Festival, we join the locals to move on to Norbulingka to enjoy a picnic with a yogurt banquet, which is the original Tibetan meaning of ‘Shoton’. Here you can taste authentic Tibetan yogurt and experience the local Tibetan people’s love for their family and friends and their optimistic attitude towards life. In addition, the Tibetan opera competition is also an important part of the Shoton Festival. There were not only local Tibetan performers, but also teams from Qinghai, Sichuan, and Yunnan. We’ve condensed the best of the first day of the Shoton Festival into this six-minute video. Of course, that’s not enough time to get a taste of the real festivities. We hope you’ll join us sometime to experience this most special festival in Tibet.

Ganden monastery is about 60 kilometers northeast of Lhasa, at the top of Wangbur Mountain, Dagze County at an altitude of about 4,300m. It is a hidden gem monastery in Tibet and in today's video, I will show you around this monastery. Founded by Tsongkhapa in 1409, Ganden Monastery is one of the great three Gelug university monasteries of Tibet, and the other two are Sera monastery and Drepung monastery. Ganden monastery has been one of the most popular day tour routes around Lhasa, and I’ve escorted hundreds of my clients to be here and they all enjoyed a very pleasant time. Today, I will show you the inside Ganden Monastery to see the holy stupa of the great Master Tsongkhapa, the golden status of the great Master Tsongkhapa, and the well-preserved living room of the great master Tsongkhapa. You will get a full and in-depth look at the great Master Tsongkhapa, who is the founder of the Gelug School of Tibetan Buddhism, and the great admiration the local Tibetan pilgrims have for the great master. Besides, I will take you to enjoy the Ganden Kora. The 4 kilometer’s kora around Ganden monastery takes about 1 hour to complete. You can enjoy some of the most beautiful scenic views of Lhasa Valley and surrounding mountains. The one-day tour to Ganden Monastery is always my top recommendation for any of Tibet tour. You will have the chance to meditate yourself in the great natural, and an experience to join in the local Tibetans to do a holy kora around the monastery. If you enjoy my videos then hit the like button, share with your friends who want to watch the tour and travel video, and subscribe to my channel to get another video.

Rutog County and Pangong Tso Lake: Follow us to Find out More Hidden Treasures in Western Tibet

Tashi Delek from Western Tibet! Today, I will show you the most desolate and remote area in Tibet with an average altitude of over 4500 meters above sea level. Visit https://www.tibettravel.org/ More than 1,575 kilometers away from Lhasa, Rutok County, the destination of today’s journey, is a small county located in the northwest part of Ngari in Tibet. 120 kilometers southern to Shiquanhe in Xinjiang, Rutok County is also the gateway for an overland journey from Xinjiang to Tibet via the National Highway G217. Due to the high altitude and harsh climate, most of the area is uninhabited. But it is the heaven or the Shambhala for wild animals in Tibet, such as antelopes, wild yaks, wild donkeys, and black-necked cranes. Tashi Delek from Western Tibet! If you still have no idea about the county of Rutog, when I talk about Pangong Tso Lake, you may have heard about it. Pangong Tso in Rutog County is the world’s highest saltwater lake of almost 4,350 meters above sea level. As one of the largest areas of natural wetlands on the planet, Pangong Tso Lake is a paradise for migrant birds. You can enjoy Pangong Lake boating to watch birds at the Bird Island and appreciate the myriad colors of Pangong Tso Lake. In fact, there are three more highlights of Rutog County that fewer people know and only a few tourists have the chance to see since it is the road less traveled in normal Tibet tours. The ancient rock painting, left by early men in Tibet, is another highlight of a trip to Rutog County. The images carved on stones are mostly of animals, such as monkeys, birds, and tigers. Also, there are patterns of the sun and the moon. The last two highlights of Rutog County are the ancient fortress and the monastery standing at the top of an isolated hill in the small town. With a history of 800 years, the monastery was reconstructed a few years ago and now only six monks live here. I have no idea how big it is, but I’m sure it is much bigger than Potala Palace. If you travel from Lhasa to Xinjiang or vice versa, you will cross through the beautiful Rutog County. It is highly recommended you to spend some time in this small county to explore this little-known destination in the far west of Tibet.
