Turkish Air Defence Programs

Isn't it easier to claim back supply chain position than getting F35 in the Turkish Air Space if restrictions removed 🤔
You realize that Turkey was producing the biggest part of the F35, the mid section right?

If they don't trust us enough to sell the plane, they definitely won't allow us to make it. And a lot of private companies that were supposed to make F35 / F135 parts for years have lost all that business.

F35 was a sweet deal for Turkey, no matter how you look at it.

Yes it was - but for some reason Turkey felt that the S400 was more important that the F-35 both from a military perspective and also from the industrial perspective. Turkey has to own that decision and walk the walk on it - no way around it.

Remember, nobody can save you from your own stupidity and corruption. No other counry on earth can hurt Turkey like Turkey can hurt itself.

...well, maybe Russia could nuke us but you get the point.

But yes, you're right. What's done is done. We'll have to deal with the consequences.

That's a moronic narrative. Turkey was already on its way out from the F-35 for a variety of reasons, the S-400 purchase has simply become the main excuse they justified it with. Greece has been operating Russian S-300PMU2 systems for decades, and the US recently approved selling them the F-35 so that is complete bogus.

But yes the S-400 made no sense either way and was stupid.

On top of that there is 0% chance Bob Menendez would have allowed the F-35s to be transferred once the Turkish intervention against the PKK in Syria started. If it wasn't stopped over the S-400, it would have been stopped over other BS. There is in fact still no guarantee that the F-16s will be allowed to be transferred.

You don't realize how close we were. If it wasn't for the S400 we could have received the first squadron.

It was best to make the excuse as difficult as possible...so things could have been seen as clearly as possible.

S-400 gave an easy out for US...and has obfuscated the real matter for many.

I have heard a story (not sure true or fake) in my childhood that there was a time when Pakistan is working on development of nuclear weapons, Pakistan Govt. make a costly deal with France to have a nuclear power plant to get the expertise and then develop nuclear weapons but soon realised this is not going to work. But the issue is, deal is signed and who ever backout have to pay huge fine. So ZA Bhutto PM Pakistan start saying about Islamic Nuclear Bomb in public which resulted in international bodies to intervenes and the deal got cancelled, Pakistan gets money in return which is actually used to get nuclear tech through Dr. AQ Khan network.

I just hope this Turkish F35/S400 episode will come out something similar.

What can a Turkey's HĂĽrjet do?

#HĂĽrjet #TurkeyHĂĽrjet #fighterjet #Turkish #Warzone2

It can't do anything with that engine.

Fighter/Attack version would have to be built differently, with an F414 engine and more agile, sturdier airframe.
