Turkish Commander Checks Out JF-17 C

The service life of WS-10s is up to 2000 hours. Where did you read that it is 5000? cite the source.
Hi,

May I ask what difference would it make if the life was 2000 over 5000 hrs.

The 2000 hrs engine is around 1.5 mil dollars.

5000 hrs engine is 5 mil dollars.

To replace an engine takes less than a day----just a few hours at the most.

So---please share with us your input---.

Lol f16v/70 have a 180 km range AMRAAM C8 YOUR GOKHAN is yet to be inducted, as for your concern about USAF F16VS can launch 1000 km range stealthy JASSAM ER

Greek F-16V doesnt have AIM-120C8 and JASSM-ER
only 105-120 km AIM-120C5/C7 and 130 km JSOW glide Bomb

Turkish F-16s will be equipped with 200 km GOKHAN air to air missile and 275 km SOM-J stealth Cruise Missile

and of course great self defense capability with EHSIM RF expendable decoy against RF guided missiles

You will not fire your missile at 200 km range because if you fired at that range enemy has a chance to escape from your missile

Lol JASSM-ER has range of 1000 km

Where do you get it that it has a range of 105-120 km??

Ever seen an F-16 downed at 200 KM range by another aircraft?

You might want to take a look at F-16V EW capabilities.

F-16 never fought against modern Air Forces

METEOR or GOKHAN Missiles can engage on F-16 from 150-200 km away

When Turkish Boeing E-7T AEWC radar lock on Greek F-16 from 250 km away , Greek pilot will lose his breath because of fear

then to fire 200 km GOKHAN air to air missile or 250+ km SIPER block2 air defense missile for deterring Greek F16 from long distance even over Athens

Greek F-16s would not cross even 25th meridian in the Aegean , when GOKHAN air to air missile and SIPER block2 air defense missile enter service

Thanks to network centric warfare and cooperative engagement capability
and Turkish Defense Industry

btw EW capabilities useless against Turkish GOKDOGAN and GOKHAN air to air missiles which have great counter-countermeasure capabilities and home on jamming

You have zero chance to hit the enemy if you fire your missile at 200 km

Russian S400 ( 48N6DM missile ) shot down Ukranian SU-27 from 150+ km away

speed of mach 5.9 and range of 250 km will be enough to keep away Greek F-16s from Turkish EEZ

GOKHAN and SIPER block2 Missiles will have this capabilities
( speed of mach 4-5 and range of 250 km )

But they have strom shadow cruise missiles on their rafale

But they have strom shadow cruise missiles on their rafale

Yes They have SCALP Cruise Missiles for Mirage2000 and RAFALE

but We compare Greek F-16V with Turkish F-16 OZGUR-2 upgrade
and Greek F-16V doesnt have any land attack Cruise Missile

Ouzgur upgrade is very similar to block 70 and V f16s in fact they are more advanced than your upgrades in terms of avionics and EW both using technology developed from F35

OZGUR-2 upgrade using advanced technology developed for KAAN 5th gen Fighter Jet

-- MURAD AESA Radar ( GaN technology with 1.000+ T/R modules )
-- FEWS next gen EW Suite
-- Havelsan EHSIM RF expendable decoy against RF guided Missiles

also Turkish F-16s armed with superior fire power like GOKHAN and SOM-J missiles which will be used by KAAN 5th gen Fighter Jet too

also Turkish F-16s to use TULGAR next gen Helmet-Mounted Display System (HMDS) which was developed for KAAN 5th gen Fighter Jet

and Turkish F-16s will operate together with KIZILELMA unmanned stealth Fighter Jet to kick enemy Fighter Jets

The first time in the world
Unmanned fighter jet and manned fighter jet flew together at the same time

KIZILELMA to help F-16 for air to air combat
A new era in aviation

You still not master this tech its takes years to develop the tactics/doctrine using manned and unmanned fighter jets combos

This is but your assumption and theory. You claimed that Hellenic Air Force does not have a land attack cruise missile and RF expendable decoy for self defense in here, but your claim is incorrect as noted in here. Hellenic Air Force also have Erieye EMB-145H AEW&C to support its jet fighters in an operation. Hellenic Air Force capabilities are expected to be similar to that of Turkish Air Force on many counts because both are NATO member states with exposure to NATO operational realities and training procedures. I understand that you have your reasons to speak out against Greece but one needs to be realistic in his assumptions.

F-16V is a very advanced jet fighter on the whole. Do I have to provide details in this respect?

Developed in partnership with Lockheed Martin and the U.S. Air Force, the AN/ALQ-254(V)1 Viper Shield provides U.S. allies with cutting-edge countermeasures against sophisticated, ever-changing threats. The L3Harris system features a virtual electronic shield that leverages modern all-digital architecture using commercial-off-the-shelf technology to provide enhanced system performance, a smaller form factor, reduced weight and easier future upgrades. The baseline version of the Viper Shield will be integrated into the F-16V aircraft fuselage, saving external space for additional capabilities such as fuel pods to increase mission range.

These matters are rather classified.

Granted that METEOR is one of the most advanced air-to-air missiles in use and Turkey is coming up with its own solutions as well but one should pay heed to qualified disclosures from well-informed sources:

As much as beyond-visual-range combat is hyped these days, and technology is certainly caught up with the concept, the operational realities that most 4th generation fighters will find themselves in the future doesn’t really support the idea that dog-fighting is dead. Rules of engagement and fear of friendly fire incidents make very long-range missile shots unpalattable during coalition operations like those we have seen time and time again against non-peer state foes over the last few decades.

The cold hard reality is that visual identification of the target is still where the bar sits for weapons release during many operations. Using targeting pods slaved to a 4th generation fighter’s radar (like the F-15C has today via the Sniper pod), or using the F-35’s Electro-Optical Targeting System (EOTS) for long-range examination of aerial targets, can help greatly with this hurdle. The only issue is that using these systems for visual identification of a potential enemy still puts such an engagement deep within the range of any AIM-120 variant. As such, the benefits the Meteor offers would are nullified.

You should study Operation Swift Retort as well. Indians assumed that Su-30 MKI was the most advanced jet fighter in the region but PAF showed otherwise. PAF has F-16 Block 50 and Block 52+ in its inventory - these are much less capable than the latest F-16V. Operation Swift Retort also show that jet fighters can evade air-to-air missiles.

Network centric warfare and cooperative engagement capability (CEC) are not Turkish [exclusive] domains and only the US have fielded true CEC in the world - others are not even close due to budget constraints. CEC is a naval doctrine by the way.

Turkey is producing domestic solutions but Greek strategy is to induct sophisticated technologies from willing suppliers. This will remain a tough fight for your side for indefinite period.

You still not master this tech its takes years to develop the tactics/doctrine using manned and unmanned fighter jets combos

Dont worry
Artificial intelligence will do this and it won't take too long ..... ( in the next 5 years )

Turkiye has put forward a "new military doctrine" in the world
Bayraktar TB-2 and ANKA-S UCAVs are intended to be used as close air support to destroy Tanks , Howitzers , MLRS , Air Defense Systems , etc

Now İts time to put forward a "new military doctrine" for air to air combat

When Greek F-16V will be bussy to match with Turkish F-16 , suddenly KIZILELMA unmanned stealth Fighter Jet will come and kick Greek F-16V in BVR combat

Range of engagement
KIZILELMA Block2 : from 90 km
F-16 Block70 : from 40-50 km

Thanks to stealth capability ....

MURAD AESA Radar and 100+ km GOKDOGAN BVR Missile are ready

I said Greek F-16s dont have land attack Cruise Missiles
only 130 km JSOW glide Bomb .... nothing else

on the other hand
Turkish F-16s have 280 km SOM and SLAM-ER Cruise Missiles
also soon 150 km CAKIR and 180+ km KUZGUN-TJ land attack Cruise Missiles

also 130 km JSOW and 150+ km KGK-LR ( IIR seeker ) glide Bombs

and network enabled weapon SOM Cruise Missile via KEMENT tactical data link

and RF expendable decoy for self defense in here, but your claim is incorrect as noted in here.

What ?

Greek F-16s dont have RF expendable decoy
