Turkish "Ertugrul Ghazi " Drama Starts at PTV Home - April 2020

maybe they can learn production direction and overall film making from Turkey! their production values of their film and drama is exceptionally high standard that is why they have a global audience.

A lot of historical figures & events in Pakistan they could base it on - completely agree with you on collaborating with the Chinese studios on the technical stuff.
Trust me, on epic film making, the Turks don't hold a candle to the Chinese. If we want to make a drama or film series, especially one with epic battles and scale, we should work with Chinese studios. Like, we'll take care of the script, actors/actresses and clothes, the Chinese deal with the cameras, direction, cinematography, etc.

smells like a propaganda, dont really think that turkic yurt dwelling people should be brought on par with sahabas and their jihad.

regards
The Ertugrul movement, which began in Oghuz, spread from Ottoman to the Ottoman Empire because they never compromised on treason, even if they were real brothers. But after being convicted of Pakistani crimes, they are sent to London from jail

Here is an opportunity for Paksitan to shape the future of drama and the content that goes into the brains of this Nation

Fact checks

  • Pakistani dramas are out of topics; love affairs, marriage problems, women victimhood, cheating and social abuse are the topics they are left with.
  • Pakistani TV is financially struggling and needs popular programs
  • Artugrul-ghazi has a 97.7% positive rating on youtube and is overwhelmingly liked in Pakistan.
  • The success of film Moula Jat changed the course of the film Industry in Pakistan, here is a similar opportunity for TV Dramas.
What is needed?
  • The GOP need to subsidize the cost of drama production on topics of history of Pakistan, Islam and our Identity as a Nation. Awaken our love for Mohammad Ali Jinnah, Liaqat Ali Khan, Mahmood Ghouri, Ghaznavi, Abdali, Khalid bin Walid and heroes from the shining history of Islam. Make countrymen fall in love with their identity one more time. Bring "Proud to be Pakistani" and "Proud to be Muslim" back.
  • Demand TV channels to produce content that brings Pakistanis closer together. When did you last see Sindhi and Baluchis invited to mingle with Kashmiris, Pathan, and Punjabis by design? What constructive role our channels have played by design?
  • Utilize the power of licensing through PEMRA - Demand 2000 hours/year of prime-time service for the nation as a compulsory requirement of license renewal. If a TV channel had not worked towards National development, harmony, and improving the social fabric - do not renew their license.
  • Promote religious harmony within the country even more. After coming out of 20 years of ideological war, Paksitan is already much accommodating a tolerant nation. Capitalize on this opportunity more.
I hope people with responsibility and desire to build nations are aware of this opportunity and they work to help this country, its people, and the media industry. It is a win-win-win opportunity.

Government also needs to mandate each channel give up at least two hours a day for children’s programming. This is the same method used in the US since the 1990s. If we don’t have local content for our children, they will watch foreign content and be indoctrinated in other cultures.

We should also subcontract the media/visual creation work overseas to South Korea, Japan, etc (remember: Disney sent some of Lion King's work to South Korea).

The animation quality there is the standard, it should be on our teams to focus on story, writing, and voice acting in Urdu. We should also get English versions (to help kids pick up the language) and to export culture/ideas overseas.

Pakistani men while watching Ertugrul Ghazi...

If it turns out that making the channels follow such stipulations is becoming difficult ... then ... the government should at least gear up and beef the State-Run PTV in such a way that it churns out these national service and national ethos building plays for the masses ... to eventually nurture a proper progressive and ethical Islamic psyche for the general public.

Especially if we can get our content out to international audiences. Marketing it as a premium, fresh and new program, from a different perspective. It would really take off if it can get picked up by an overseas network and earn revenue for the creators and writers back in Pakistan.

Long term though, it should be viewed as a transitional process, and we should move over to animating in Pakistan.

The pilots should be made and posted on YouTube and shown on PTV. If they get a following they should be funded and animated locally for one season. If that becomes successful, then we should go big and use foreign animators, so that we don’t over leverage on a series that looks promising, but could easily run out of storylines.

Ramping up PTV is good, but the private Channels have the money and the government owns the licenses. The government can set the rules; raising the cost of doing business. Requiring private Channels to fund children programming and other social service programs; for a few hours a day.

Well said, If these Godfather brothers and other treacherous politicians did the same crime back in the Ottoman empire literally their heads would have been chopped off.

Second season is my favorite:
Russia, China, India... Next is Anatolia. Mongols are coming :D
