Turkish Naval ships visit Karachi Port

Lovely ships. I am Army all the way, but few machines are as beautiful as a well-maintained ship.
 
Pak, Turkey hold joint naval exercise

ISLAMABAD: The deep waters of Arabian Sea witnessed a Pak-Turkish joint naval exercise dubbed as Deniz Aslan-11 (Sea Lion) on July 4.

The exercise was conducted in two phases in which four ships of Turkish Maritime Task Group and three Pakistan Navy ships along with a submarine participated.

The harbour phase encompassed a planning conference, a seminar on tactics and procedures and communication drills. The sea phase included an air defence exercise, advance manoeuvers and Anti-Submarine Warfare procedures.

A two-star admiral commanded the visiting Turkish Task Group. The navies of Pakistan and Turkey reaffirmed continued support to each other in combating terrorism, piracy and illegal activities in the maritime sector.

Almost every year the Turkish and Pakistani army, air force and navy conduct their joint exercises. The 3 Turkish frigates & logistics support vessel left the southwestern naval base of Turkey last May 30, visited Karachi, Pakistan later departed on last Monday. TCG Barbaros, TCG Gelibolu, TCG Gemlik Frigates and the TCG Yarbay Kudret Grungor which is a logistics support vessel sailed from the Aksaz Naval Base to participate in the international efforts in fighting off pirates from the Gulf of Aden, off to the coast of Somalia and from the Arabian Sea.

TMTG is activated every year to fight the threats against the global security and to meet new challenges on security while also demonstrating their capability to be deployed for longer periods. It’s also supporting NATO and UN. The Turkish Naval Forces has heavily contributed to the counter piracy operations from 2009 to 2011 with as many as 7 ships.
