Srinagar: With hours left before Diwali, there has been a suspected terror attack at the heart of Srinagar's Lal Chowk area.
In two separate attacks in Srinagar on Tuesday, grenades were hurled at two different areas in Lal Chowk.
While two CRPF jawans have been injured in the Maisuma blast, there were no reports of any injuries so far from Batamaloo.
The police and CRPF personnel have cordoned off both the scenes of blast and so far detained one suspect for questioning.
The twin grenade attacks in the summer capital, which sparked panic, have come at a time when the state government plans to revoke the Armed Forces Special Powers Act from parts of the state.
Police has launched a manhunt to nab the militants and presence of security personnel around the city has been strengthened.
