Ukraine and the United Kingdom will soon sign a Memorandum of Understanding and Cooperation in the field of defense

On this day, February 9, said Ukraine Defense Minister Colonel General Stephen Poltorak during a meeting with Ambassador of Great Britain to Ukraine Mr. Simon Smith, director of the international security policy MoD UK Nick Guerra.

- We are working hard on the preparation of this document, which is a logical continuation of cooperation between the two countries - Minister of Defence of Ukraine.

Also during the meeting they discussed the situation in Eastern Ukraine.

- Cooperation between the defense ministries of the two countries have always been constructive and I am sure that will thrive in the future - said Colonel Stephen Poltorak.

Also the head of the defense department thanked the Government and people all over the UK for their support and assistance to the Ukrainian army.

Director of International Security Policy, the UK MoD Nick Herr said that Ukraine can count on every possible assistance in the pursuit of Ukrainian independence.

- Deep respect fighters defending their homeland - said Nick Herr - admire their courage and heroism.

During the meeting the parties discussed promising areas of cooperation, including the civil-military cooperation, training, military and military-technical spheres and receive further humanitarian and logistical assistance to meet the needs of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, performing tasks in the area of ATO .

Britain to help train Ukrainian army to counter Russian threat | Zee News

London: Prime Minister David Cameron said on Tuesday Britain would deploy military personnel to Ukraine in the next month to help train the Ukrainian army, warning that Moscow would move to destabilise other countries if left unchallenged.


Cameron made the announcement after pro-Russia separatists brought reporters to witness the withdrawal of heavy weapons from the front line in eastern Ukraine under a ceasefire deal. Ukraine said the rebels were using the cover of the truce to reinforce for another advance.

"Over the course of the next month we`re going to be deploying British service personnel to provide advice and a range of training, to tactical intelligence to logistics, to medical care," Cameron told a committee of lawmakers in parliament.

"We`ll also be developing an infantry training programme with Ukraine to improve the durability of their forces," he added, stressing British personnel would be a long way from any front line and not be involved in combat operations.

Cameron said he didn`t rule out arming Ukraine at some point in the future but that supplying non-lethal support was Britain`s current approach.

"If we don`t stand up to Russia in the long-term it will be deeply damaging to all of us because you`ll see further destabilisation. Next it`ll be Moldova or one of the Baltic states."

True talk bro. But dont really be bothered by that. Afterall you must understand why India/Indians position. They have been dependent on Moscow for military tech/support anmd all their weapons systems comes from Moscow, without Russia, cant imagine what will be of their military power/equipments, they will be grounded. So we all have to understand their stance, even if i was in the same situastion like them, i will also support Russia no matter what, even if i knew they did something bad/are expantionists. Afterall every country is only after its own interests. so cant blame them for siding with Moscow. I would have been surprised if they did otherwise to be honest. Though seeing them trying to defend Russia on the ground of Russia being an innocent/non aggressive/passive power being bullied by thye west/U.S is laughable.
