Vietnamese students surpass Chinese peers to top regional education ranking: World Bank

relax you are exploding otherwise. I haven´t written the article. the stat is from the world bank.

is there a difference between weighted average score and absolute score or not?
My advise is just take some basic statistics class. All the scores from PISA test and on the graph are average scores of each countries' test takers. Weighted average score from vietnam should be the same as arithmetric average which is most common used here.

Why not ask your supa pawa peers that how come their high intellect only positions them at 30th place in income while lower intellect are number one in income in actual real world jobs that pays, instead of passing fancy tests.

Here's one fact that is true. China did not achieve the rates of success that India has done at its current GDP when China was at the same GDP.

While China became 2nd highest GDP it is yet to even be called a developed country- rather is looked as one step above the 3rd world.

I know they love to compare themselves to India at far lower GDP and not to us. Else that true wee bit better than 3rd world status would come out loudly.

China in 2006 was about the same GDP as India is today. 2.8 ish trillion

BUT

China 2006 PPP GDP per Capita Income - $5848

India 2018 PPP GDP per Capita Income - $7,174

Don't compare China to India, India is already a supa powa by 2012 according to its president, we only try to be moderately developed in 2020

You do it every day all day and to any topic, in fact you are afraid to compare to us because you are just one step above a third world country as an official designation. Second highest GDP and you can't take care of your people to where the enjoy developed country status

What are you talking about? One is nominal figure and another is PPP figure.

And you can't just take a PPP figure in 2018 and compare it with one in 2006 without accounting for inflation, unless it's constant PPP dollars. You're using current PPP dollars.

Just click on both of the links you posted. For example,

China:
2017 16,624 7.99 %

India:
2017 7,174 7.17 %

Why did their GDP per capita growth outstrip GDP growth even though both countries are still experiencing population growth in 2016? That's because current PPP dollars doesn't account for inflation.

Second highest GDP and you can't take care of your people to where the enjoy developed country status

Total GDP has nothing to do with the average standard of living of a people, but everything to do with national power.

We have been dethroned, i can't bear to watch this

Will India buy commodities using PPP dollars?

How much inflation do you want to account for in 12 years? even at 20% overall, they beat the Chinese out.

Even on HDI India is at par with China pound for pound when both were at the 2.8 trillion GDP mark

This is assuming they did not fudge their data a far as back then. we found out recently they fudged their 2015 data.

relax, false flagger, given another 10 years. As a matter of fact, China east coaster area is much more developed than most of USA. Except a few metropolitan areas, most of USA is rural life style, Chinese enjoy a much better REAL living standard.

LOL even our kids make more money working part time at McDonald's than your factory workers. Most of your country is one step above 3rd world.

China Is Still A 'Poor' Country

Only 20% inflation in 12 years?

Again, it's a totally different proposition in the first place. Why are you even using total nominal GDP to compare both countries' GDP PPP per capita?

Now you're using total nominal GDP as a basis to compare HDI?

how much do you think the currency valuation and inflation have changed in 12 years

from 2006 to 2017

Cumulative price change 21.42%
Average inflation rate 1.78%
Price difference ($100 base) $21.42
CPI in 2006 201.6
CPI in 2017 244.786

I'm using HDI reports that come out annually. HDI when China was 2.8 trillion GDP versus when India per those reporting years. Both using the same criteria on GDP. They very close/at par

Way to miss my point.

I'm asking, why are you using total nominal GDP as a basis to compare HDI or GDP per capita PPP? They have zero correlation. And your answer?

Both using the same criteria on GDP. They very close/at par

What is that even supposed to mean?

You assumed that because China's nominal GDP is 2.8 trillion in 2006, India is 12 years behind. What about inflation afterwards? Currency fluctuations? GDP growth rate? China grew 12.7% in 2006, and 14.2% in 2007. India is growing around 7% now. Can India double the growth rate in the next 2 years? Can India's nominal economy grow 5x in the next 12 years? There are so many different variables.

You shouldn't even compare HDI to total nominal GDP. And even if you compare, you're wrong to compare HDI reports in 2006 to 2016, because they changed the methodology in 2011.
