Why China paid $1trillion to US but doesn't pay a dime to the Pak govt?

Rather than Pakistani's or Chinese it seems the indians are the most concerned about this matter, bizarre because it has nothing to do with india, the relations between Pakistan and China are mutually beneficial - to both countries enough said.

Not marzi janab its called investment in a right place and get sure profit from the investment .:)

Friends say that it's all about business - they could not be more right - but some fundamentals of investing first - Would you put ever more amounts of money where the investment was not respected and worse still, where it was not PROTECTED?? After all, Pakistan's problem is not debt's, it's the unwillingness to build so that it can repay it's debts -- Consider, there is a lot of Pakistani money, more than it's debts, that thinks it is "SAFER" to be outside Pakistan (Capital Flight) - Why does it think it's "safer" outside Pakistan?

Why do owners of private capital not trust "populist" (Awam centric) governments such as the PPP ?? Because they remember what the PPP did to their private property (Nationalization) Why do Arbi business and capital not investment in Pakistan?? Because they know that when legislators are themselves crooks and willfully uneducated about national interest, why should they care more than these legislators???

If Pakistani business and capital choose "safety" when it comes to governments such as PPP, why wouldn't prudent investors in China and the world, think the same thing???

China invested in US treasury bonds, because of the ability and the WILL of the US to repay it's debts - when doubt began to come into the picture, the US has sent it's vice president to assure China that US will repay it's debts under any and ALL circumstances.

So if Pakistan desire to be considered "Worthy" of the money of others, it must first demonstrate that it values such investment and that it will protect such investment, See friends, others money is actually their "Private property", if Pakistan does not respect it's own citizens private property, who in their right mind will imagine that the Pakistan government, it's legislature, it's courts and Law enforcement, will protect the property of foreigners??

Pakistan's leadership, especially it's political elite, are essentially, crooks - but that's not the problem, the problem is that they are crooks who imagine that the rest of the world, especially Capital, are unworthy of respect and of course global capital pays it back in it's own coin.

There's a humungous difference. Chinese invested expecting US economy to give them good returns in another way. Who knew that Bush would go in guns blazing half the world across and make them the financiers of WOT? When a risk is taken in business it is taken with some idea.

China for years had smartly invested in its infrastructure and gained rich profits. But a business is not always successful and the US investment for now in short term is an example here. Although in long term, it might change.

Don't see how you can compare Pakistan to US. US has a strong industrial base and though its finances are crunched, it still has topmost tech on this planet to bring itself back from brink of destruction (even if it becomes less influential). How is this possible in Pakistan?

The idea you are expressing is poorly articulated -- if we think of investments in terms of criteria we may have, the number one and two criteria are will my investment be protected by the law, Can I trust that whatever "certainty" that may exist will continue and improve or deteriorate - only then can you think of any possible "rate of return" --- ANY other investment is a crooked deal, that is to say that it is a short term investment with a guaranteed rate of return, in which politicians and bureaucrats associated with the government, will ensure that the rate of return, minus the "cost of doing business", flow unhindered.

how can you expect another country to invest with you when most of your own expatriates are un willing to do so?

It looks like reading this thread, it's the indians who are whinning the most, whereas the Pakistanis and Chinese are chilled out.

Its not bailing out, its a business. Can't blame Chinese as they are just doing the business. Its got nothing to do with friendship or something. China will bail out Pakistan or Bangladesh also, if good business opportunities are provided.

Not really, our indian friends never cease to fail in inferiority complex. :azn:

Oh man ! You again started your complex rants. Atleast you could have read the heading of the thread. and it is started by a pakistani member.

Ques : Why China paid $1trillion to US but doesn't pay a dime to the Pak govt?
Rafi : Because indian have inferiority complex

Check out the thread title, it's an issue between China and Pakistan.

Yet SOMEHOW, the first few pages are filled with nothing else but Indians whining, despite the fact it has nothing to do with them. :P
