Ehud Barak: The danger lies in the Pakistani nuclear program, which could leak to countries like Saudi Arabia

A common mantra of US, West, India and Israel....

Except...who is to say that the sovereignty will be guarded once a state gives up its nuclear weapons? Once "defanged" u r at the mercy of other powerful states keeping their word...which is basically "hoping for the best"...but not having prepared for the worst.
If u want something done right...do it urself...as in if a nation wants to guarantee its sovereignty...it has do it itself. Nukes are one of the ways...they are horrible...in terms of destruction and their long lasting terrible effects on ppl and environment...but that's the reality we live in. In some cases u have to put idealism and optimism aside...survival is one of those cases.
Like I said, in an ideal world, where such a mechanism exists. I don't expect such a scenario for few more centuries, unless something dramatic happens on the world scene. Those who seem to be too worried about others nuclear weapons have huge stockpiles of their own. Hypocrisy at it's best

KSA is already in Israeli pocket....what is Ehud Barak barking about?

Unless, an acceptable resolution of Palestine issues is arrived at; Israel will ever remain a threatened state. They cannot come out of this psyche.

It seems after Afghanistan, Pakistan is the next target.

We all expected this.

Yep the western media has started its usuall mental rants of how terrorists could get hold of Paks nuclear weapons.

Former Israeli Prime Minister Ehud Barak:

Iran's acquisition of a number of nuclear bombs does not pose an existential threat to Israel at the present time, but the danger is the Pakistani nuclear weapon, which could leak to other countries, including Saudi Arabia, if Pakistan's stability is endangered..

No need to worry, Ehud. The Saudis and other gulfi Arabs love you guys even more than the americans and indians do..

Personal opinion...in a few more centuries the world will more likely be more chaotic...
...more of men(and nations) at each other's throats...to get resources that will be even more scarce...for a population even bigger.

...and yeah fully agreed on the whole hypocrisy thing. I think all nations that own nuclear weapons...need to STFU about other nations nuclear stockpiles or other nations pursuing nuclear weapons. Only nations who don't have them should speak up...or show concern. South Africa should be leading the charge...and the world will respect that more.

This moron just picked up a neocon article from the early 0 years and repeated it.
Tell his carers to put him to sleep, he shouldn't be speaking anywhere.

I was eluding towards, as far as closeness of relationships go, KSA is more likely to get nuclear technology from Israel rather than Pakistan.

He is wrong, if Pakistan's stability, territorial integrity and the right to exist is threatened we will not sell our nukes, we will use them against all of our enemies, if we have to go into the night, we will make sure we take the world with us.

If it is expected that Saudi Arabia is waiting for problems in Pakistan that will affect its stability in order to obtain a nuclear weapon from it, then it is a product of imagination.. very far from reality..
The Saudis do not think militarily with the logic of emergency .. KSA is always anticipating events..
Sauids can build nuclear weapons by snapping fingers but they are two afraid of uncle sam

The guy is contradicting the current Usraeli government talk about Iran.. so maybe he still has some political ambitions..

But anyhow.. Saudi Arabia and Iran will have a 4th round of talks very soon,, so it does not match Barak's BS talk..

The only thing that is sure is that Usrael doesn't like even the idea of civil nuclear plants in Arab countries..
