(Just watch Korean Youtube about KFX and Indonesia)

Unlike them who dont have any clue and rely to FB belonging to Korean who also dont have connection to the progam and just read rumors, I actually have real connection to the program through my personal connection.

I dont know with Korean fanboys who just follow KFX/IFX program recently. Indonesia has been patience during early development of KFX/IFX that started in 2011 where Korean parliament stop the program and delayed happen for 2 years, not to mention the process to include KAI Aerospace and LM in 2015 also previously get delayed due to no Korean company who do the bidding beside KAI Aerospace.

Without Indonesia, KFX/IFX program could possibly be stopped by Korean parliament as many pessimist gain some strenght during that period there similar like current Indonesians where we have many pessimisst analysts that dont believe with indigenous high tech program and prefer to just import import defense equipment.

Here is KAI design (KFX-E) that could possibly pass if there is no Indonesian on the program

I expect the composite production facility for IFX production in Indonesia Aerospace will be built soon. Latest PMN for PTDI will likely be given to build this facility since N219 and CN 235 order is not too many and no need to increase their production facility.

Ilham Habibie when he recently visited the company said that PTDI currently produces planes under their production capacity. They just need to hire more people ( like happening in the old days with around 8000 workers- current workers are just around 4500 people ) if they want to increase CN 235 and N219 production rate. CN235 production facility has also already been modernized during SBY administration period.

Composit facility for IFX is a must as KF21 mass production phase will likely be speed up as Indonesian Aerospace must also produce wing, tail, and pylon to all KF21 population (Korean, Indonesian, and export orders).

Any way, curren KF 21 prototypes have already had Indonesian Aerospace produced airframe components that are made from Aluminum. KF 21 still has aluminum made airframe components.

By the way, 6 Singapore F15 SG fighter planes are massacred by only 2 Australian F35 during latest Pitchblack practice in Australia.

It is a correct decision not to proceed plan to acquire F15 EX and good decision by Mindef to add more F16 ( 1 billion USD ) as the current 33 F16 planes upgrade program into latest 72 block have also already been approved by Minister of Finance.

I think Mindef needs to push Lockheed Martin to allow majority of the 33 F16 planes being upgraded (Block 72 variant) and hopefully also refurbished (F16 C/D) in Indonesian Aerospace facility.

Indonesian Aerospace enginners are already involved in current Falcon Star program for 10 F16 A/B, but by doing the upgrade and refurbishment in PTDI facility it can become somekind of transition process before producing IFX in Bandung. They can do it in MRO and Final Assembly Hangars.

Doing the upgrade in IFX final assembly hangar can be done as well

Indonesia to receive KF-21 prototype no 5 if payments completed

13 APRIL 2023

Indonesia has resumed cost-sharing payments for its involvement in the KAI KF-21 fighter aircraft programme. (DAPA)

The South Korean government has confirmed that it will transfer a Korea Aerospace Industries (KAI) KF-21 Boramae fighter aircraft prototype to Indonesia, provided Jakarta fulfils its financial obligations to the project.

Speaking to Janes, South Korea's Defense Acquisition Programme Administration (DAPA) said that the single-seat “KF-21 prototype no 5 will be transferred to Indonesia” as part of the joint engineering and manufacturing development (EMD) agreement signed by both countries.

Under the conditions of the joint KF-21 development project, PT Dirgantara Indonesia (PTDI, Indonesian-aircraft Industries) was to receive one prototype of the aircraft for testing and research.

Seoul's confirmation quashes speculation that South Korea would retain the fifth prototype in the country. The fifth prototype, which is being produced at KAI's Sacheon factory, was notably missing its Indonesian flag during a visit by South Korean President Yoon Suk-yeol on 24 November 2022. All earlier KF-21 prototypes had the Indonesian flag painted alongside the South Korean Taegukgi flag.

This prompted speculation that Indonesia would not receive the aircraft. However, a representative of PTDI told Janes in April 2023 that "Indonesia is still considered a participant in the project and has not been dropped".

Quoting from DAPA's statement that the transfer of prototype no 5 will be carried out "on condition that Indonesia carries out its participation properly as a co-developer, such as payment of production sharing".

Between 2016 and 2019, the Indonesian government made payments of KRW227.2 billion (USD171.5 million) for the KF-X/IF-X (KF-21) program. However, in 2021 the outstanding payments have increased to KRW600 billion. On 3 November 2022, Janes reported that Indonesia was restarting its payments after negotiations in November 2021.

I expect Anies Baswedan coalition if win in next election inshaAllah will give more support to KFX/IFX program as we know that Demokrat Party is one of them. Demokrat Party currently is an opposition party is the initiator of IFX program that started in 2011 (KFX/IFX program).

Korean blame whole Indonesian when Jokowi administration doesnt pay our financial contribution to the program while in the reality is that many Indonesians are also frustated by seeing current administration handle the program. Jokowi act this is because KFX/IFX program is Demokrat Party program, while Prabowo is busy to add more imported fighter planes without thinking his handle in IFX program would probably be discussed as well in next Presidential Debate.

Indonesian politicians need to be more mature and grow up, all good program under previous administration should be continued and supported. Anies Baswedan coalition has said that Nusantara City development will be continued if he is elected as President, so Jokowi must show reciprocal action by paying more to KFX/IFX program, I hope they can start paying at minimum at 150 million USD for 2024 budget.

The deal has been reached in 2021 November, so why this administration doesnt pay Indonesian financial obligation as it should be ???? They should pay every year at least around 150-180 million USD per year, this is outside the some years when Jokowi administration doesnt pay the program a penny. AlhamduliLLAH our design engineers were still there until the design has been completed despite their salary were not paid by Jokowi administration.

Indonesia delays payment for S. Korea's fighter development project

All News 11:49 October 07, 2019

As of July, 114 Indonesian engineers were sent to South Korea to work with Korea Aerospace Industries Co. (KAI), the country's sole aircraft manufacturer, to design and make a prototype of the fighter, according to a DAPA official.

Last month, DAPA confirmed that the design for the combat jet met all military requirements, allowing the project to go on to the next phase of constructing a prototype.

All KF-21 prototypes are not built with any Indonesian-made components. Only if they meet their contractual obligations then Indonesia can produce wings, tails and pylons for domestic IFX.

Flight Global article:
In addition, Indonesia’s defence ministry supports the “re-establishment” of a joint programme office for the effort. Ultimately, Jakarta hopes to gain the ability to produce components such as the wing, tail and pylons, as well as conduct final assembly locally.

Who said so ? Do you have connection to KAI ? Or just heard rumor and you believe it ?

Do you want to make a bet with me if I can prove what I said ?

Alluminium made parts that is supplied for current prototypes. For Composits (Carbon Fiber Reinforced Polymer/CFRP), not yet which is due to current administration not yet build the CRFP Composit production facility and the payment issue plus renegotiation process until 2021 November become other reasons.

PTDI will be part of KF21 component supply chain base on the deal. Indonesia is a partner. Of course we should fulfill our obligation as partner, including related to the shared development cost.
