Indian Defence Minister Nirmala Sitharaman has announced the launch of the second indigenously designed Arihant-class nuclear-powered ballistic missile submarine (SSBN) on order for the Indian Navy (IN).
Official sources told Jane’s that the launch of Arighat , which took place during a low-key ceremony held at the Ship Building Centre (SBC) at Visakhapatnam on 19 November, entailed flooding the dry dock housing the SSBN to enable it to float into the surrounding waters for additional fitment ahead of its commissioning in 2020-21.
Arighat will be succeeded in the dry dock by two similar SSBNs that have been temporarily designated S4 and S4*.

It’s not quiet enough as it show up in PDF. Now the brag machine would go full gear.
I suspect the Indian 2nd SSBN launch is half crook. That is why they keep quiet. Its not even 30% near operation but the India defense industries need some accountability to brag about their achievement to get more funding by launching it.

Just like the half crooked INS Vikrat with island less launched while its many years away from operation.

All Indian military mile stone are always meet with well publicize bragging. Indian military is not like PLA to keep most time low profile. If Indian keeps low profile , it means something is very wrong.

Agree. Indian military equipment serve to brag so its leaders can win elections. It’s not created for actual war. All equipments for actual war are imported ones. That is why India need single engine aircraft as Tejas turn out to be a parade plane.

How is it supposed to be 'quietly' when a Minister announces it?:rofl::rofl:. Indians being quiet and humble, these two qualities just don't sync well with Indians.:rofl::rofl:
