Was watching the movie Jack Reacher in which Tom Cruise talks about a US army sniper firing 2500 rounds every day for two years making 2 million rounds in 2 years. I wonder how true that is, and how much practice our guys get? @Horus @balixd @Zarvan

"SSG of Pakistan Army is best special force of the world...."

I really think such statements and the overall way of thinking should change."Best in the world". Makes us sound Indian and bollywoodish.

All that matters in reality, is the competency. Full stop. Such kind of statements claiming something of this magnitude are extremely subjective and hold nothing measurable or definite.

Is our SSG competent? Yes, definitely.

What degree of competency have they demonstrated? Well, look at the overall history and operations it has conducted.

I agree to you on that. It kind of hampers the development and urge to grow better..why become better if you are already the best in the world

One of the best, no doubt, they get a mention by many experts and are in any top ten 'special forces list".

Very brave and Courageous. A Russian president once said that if he had Pakistan's army and Russian weapons he could conquer all the world because they are very brave.+419

Actually, it was hitter that said "if I had German strategy, American weapons and Egyptian soldiers, I would have conquered the world" you dumb fool lol+263

The ssg had only 100 me in the battle of the hill in afganistan in which they posed as mujahideen and attacked the Russian regiments of spetsnaz there. They won the battle although the enemy had the elevation o there posts and superior numbers to there side. In another case only 100 ssgs cleared 3 towns in swat district from 2000 taliban in a matter of 2 days!+293

It is not the weapon they hold, it's the men behind it that matters. No matter how the west view them, simply because word MUSLIM attached to their identity. I wonder if they know, that exact word is their strength. It is impossible to separate the two.+242

Business Insider reported that training for the Pakistani Special Services Group requires a 36-mile march done in 12 hours and a five-mile run in full kit in 20 minutes — if that's true... then holy s***.

Created to combat terrorism, extremism, and separatism, SSG training consists of grueling physical conditioning, airborne school, a 25-week commando course, and hand-to-hand combat training. Reportedly, only 5% of recruits complete the rigorous training.

Due to their location, they are kept actively engaged in counter-terror missions. From hotspots along the India-Pakistan border to the ongoing conflict in Afghanistan to Operation Zarb-e-Azb, a joint military offensive targeting terrorist organizations, the SSG goes where the fire is hot.
