JF-17 Block-3 -- Updates, News & Discussion

Bhai. With due respect aircrafts are armed in view of what the fight involves. In the Indo Pak scenario you will hardly see any A2A eencounter with JFT armed with 4 PL15, 4 PL 12/SD10 A/B + 2 PL5Es . The max loadout will be centre tank plus 4+2. Without the wing tanks the JFT'S loitering time will be significantly reduced. It is a light weight fighter. Even the MKI will not be seen with a loadout of more than 4+2 in a war theatre. Dont expect a light weight fighter to act as a bomb truck otherwise refer to the picture. There is no sense in overloading a light fighter only to lose it or jettison ammo to make a run for it.
Rest I leave upto you wise people.

Where did I mention that the JF-17 should carry more missiles? I simply stated the fact that it can't.

The placard signifies target data sharing between assets.
Why does the placard only shows the Chinese assets working as a team ?? Is PAF trying to create these two teams, Chinese (JF-17, J-10, ZDK-03) and Western (F-16s, Erieyes) ??

Also, another dumb question, does the canted AESA on J-10 means it is not meant to/ has limited look-down/shoot-down capability ??

Does F-22 or F-35's canted AESA mean they have limited look-down/shoot-down capability? Use common sense man.

Hi,

Your's is a strange comment---. Why should it not show that---.
Newest acquisitions are always projected more than the others---.

@kursed and @SQ8 You reckon same SDR will be in J-10, Mirages & F-7PG's ? and Block-1 & 2 as well?
I think the pgs are out of the game and will retire. We wont see any investment on them. The mirages remain a mystery as the level of upgrades on them remains unknown. The lnly problem, if we try a mix of western/Chinese harware will be one of compatibility. I think it might be too much of a risk to swap hardware and then try and re onfigure all the current weapons systems on the newer hardware. I suspect it will be doable but cost and benefit considerations might come into play.

My question stems from the rumors that allegedly F-16s cannot be data linked with ZDK-03 directly. If that is true, and an Erieye is not present in the theater, how would F-16s be controlled?? Does the F-16 is then data linked directly to the ground stations?? Is there a delay in this case, as ground sensors may not be in direct LOS at that moment??

Hi,

Information like that---the enemy finds out on the day of the war---.

There won't be any delay.
