What would happen if US, EU, Japan, S.Korea completely cut business with China?

China can also make them, even most Iphones and Tesla are made in China now, tell me one thing the people use everyday that China can't make, can you?
That's the thing, I'm not talking about only consumer level stuff.

iPhone chips are made in Taiwan, and screens are made in Korea. Assembled in China.

About Tesla, the future Tesla factories will have mega-forges for their cars, only an Italian company is capable of creating those.

We saw what happened to Huawei when Google stopped their services. The entire world is accustomed to western software, US can ban Xiaomi/Realme/Oppo/Lenovo/whatever from Google Services/Android/Windows/other western software and no one is going to ever buy it. Not just on the consumer level, but on the business level as well.

We see what is happening with the Chinese chip industries right now. Turmoil.

Whether or not can or will the west decouple completely from China is a different question altogether.

But if the question is focus on what would happen if NA (US + Canada + Mexico) + EU + South Korea + Japan + most Western European western country (such as Australia + Singapore + New Zealand and so on) ignore China.

The answer is simple, look at the world purchasing power index and then talk about where your stuff is going to sell to when you lost access to all those markets?

Mexico didn't even sanction Russia. Singapore is too smart to sanction China. Beside US, there are 5 countries that are most likely to follow decoupling China policy. UK, Canada, Germany, Japan, S.Korea. UK and Canada are US brother countries. The other three are US colonies. No way for other countries. As I said, this is extreme scenario

On reddit, I read a lot of comments from the West. They say that if the two sides stop trading, China will lose

And now, on the PDF, a Chinese guy claims that if the side doesn't trade, the west will lose.

Interesting, on both Reddit and PDF, these people give many reasons to prove their point is not wrong.

I guess, if their professor asked them to prove the earth is flat, these people could write a long thesis, come up with hundreds to thousands of reasons to prove it to be true (the earth is flat).

So we don't need to waste time on such a long post. Just understand it in a simple way.

The author of this thread declares: if the two sides do not trade, China will win, the West will lose.

=> And that is his own personal opinion.

Iphone are using mor BOE screens. 20% Iphone parts are from Chinese suppliers. Tesla's 4680 battery seems to fail. S.Korean battery suppliers lost more market shares to Chinese battery suppliers in 2022. Phone OS case is not universal for business. It dosn't fit for 99% products.

Those are DRAM chips...
Those are not complicated to make and simple in their design, even I bought DDR4 memory from AliExpress for cheap for my computer.

I am talking about the SoC (GPU+CPU+5G/4G Modem+DRAM+ISP and more all on one chip) produced by TSMC for Apple. Like when Huawei designed HiSilicon chips that were made by TSMC and when the west sanctioned them they had no way to produce those chips.

If so how come Huawei still grows in revenue and keeps expanding it's products and markets?

The ultimate question is: Can China produce high end goods to end west's dominance? If yes China wins.

The ultimate question is: Can China produce high end goods to end west's dominance?

China can,

Nothing is irreplaceable. Even if the Russians banned the export of engines, the United States banned the export of electronic components, Germany banned the export of CNC machines. China is capable of making similar machines and equipment, not better than imported goods, but it is good enough to use and the quality may improve over time.

And at some point in the future, Chinese products will have better quality than Western products.

If yes China wins.

That is absolutely true from a Chinese person's point of view

Tell me what presence does Huawei have in phone markets? compared to when it was in its peak?

Huawei began using Qualcomm chips again, this is what allowed Huawei to continue selling phones, but no one in the western world really uses those anymore.

Huawei still got a huge presence in China, not so much in the western world, that's coming from a dude that had a P40 pro and had to struggle without Google. Life isn't possible without Google Services. It also diversified its income sources to maintain its existence.

Not really, it just means both markets will be successful and isolated from each other.

Again, that's not "What if the West "Collectively" Sanction China", that's another question on whether or not any country will sanction China.

You were talking about what if US, EU, Japan and SK cut ties completely with China. That's my answer highlighted in Black Bolted

Well, considering this guy is the same guy who once said "There are no other countries or collective countries can replace China as world factory"

I would not be surprise by what his thinking of China really are.

But does that mean it reflect on the facts? No.

The answer to his question he asked is what if the world number 1 to 7, 11- 17, 19- 31 in purchasing power abandoned China, and replacing with 8-10, 18, 32, 36 (China) and 45 and anything else down the line.

The first 3 alone is the rest of the 10 combines, and if that alone would not hurt your business as an export driven economy, then I don't really know what will.

Huawei Honor is still the second best selling phone in China, and when you say Huawei, do you really mean phones? Huawei is not only a phone maker in China.

I would say that even if I'm not Chinese. The west by no means can compete with China in low end and middle end products. They can not afford to lose market for high end products.

Wrong. In this case China will win the non- western countries markets. It is the west that is isolated by the world by then.

I am only talking about the potential implications of western software bans.
No one in the majority world is going to buy a phone without google services.

I never said Huawei is only a phone company, if it was it wouldn't be running today.

Huawei is doing ok, it's still growing, and China's market is the world biggest which is big enough for any companies to flourish, so what you claim that the west destroyed Huawei is ridiculous.
