FM: Iran to invite Saudi King Salman for official visit

The Iranian foreign minister says Tehran is set to submit an invitation for Saudi Arabia’s King Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud to visit the Islamic Republic in the future, following a reconciliation agreement between the two Middle East powers.

In an interview with Al Jazeera, Hossein Amirabdollahian said King Salman had invited President Ebrahim Raisi of Iran for a trip to the kingdom, and that Tehran will likewise send an invitation for the monarch to make a visit to Iran.
Earlier this month, Tehran and Riyadh announced a surprise reconciliation agreement, brokered by China, following a seven-year-long rupture in their relations.
Amirabdollahian is also expected to meet his Saudi counterpart in the coming weeks.
The two top diplomats have already spoken on the phone.
Elsewhere in the interview, the Iranian foreign minister made comments on the stalled negotiations on the revival of the 2015 nuclear agreement.
He spoke of a bill on the agenda of the Iranian Parliament, which would set a time limit for negotiations on restoring the troubled deal, which the US unilaterally abandoned in 2018.
The chief diplomat warned that the door will not remain open to the talks forever.
The negotiations have been at an impasse for months due to a host of reasons, including a diplomatic dispute with the UN nuclear watchdog and an apparent lack of seriousness in Washington to effectively remove anti-Iran sanctions and return to the nuclear deal.

China long term mutual interests diplomacy works.

Unlike Western short term dollar corrupt diplomacy.
It can’t be understated how this one moves gives China a huge boost in credibility while at the same time exposing the lack of credibility in US diplomacy which has been the primary force instigating conflict and bloodshed in the region.

I don’t think the US is even capable of actual diplomacy nowadays. The state department is filled with ideological warhawks who only know how to use the stick and in turn American power is declining precipitously.

There is no US diplomacy.
US is about profits only. War is bigbusiness and money. So perpetual war is in the interest of these well dressed well spoken shayteens

The US during the Cold War was far more skilled in diplomacy. I think the fall of the Soviet Union really caused the US to stagnate and regress because its leaders were spoiled for decades thinking they had no competition.

Saudi Turkey Iran, if these 3 countries can mend their relationship with each other, will give a huge boost to an Islamic bloc.

Not advocating Pan Islamism here but you get the gist.

But you should advocate Pan Islamism. Pakistan hasn’t been pan Islamism since the 90s. It became a secularized bastard using religion as a tool while killing Muslims left and right.

Pakistan had iman under Islamism. What has secularization brought? Humiliation and cowardly deeds and behavior. IK was an Islamist and an effective one. The seculars didn’t like that and overthrew him. You may disagree with me and I won’t get offended, but I’m a pan-islamist as well.

The DOS lost its relevant after 9/11. The Pentagon took lead in American foreign policy. The DOS is just an agency for the Georgetown grads and their elitist buddies. There is a divide between Pentagon and the DOS. I’ve seen it myself.

As Gen Petreaus once said, we have more band members in the Army than State has diplomats.

Trust me bro.

Pan Islamism will be extremism on steroids in Pakistan’s context. Look no further to Zia’s era. The Islamic republic and an eventual bloc of Pakistan, Afghanistan, Central Asian Republic nonsense was sold by Zia to an illiterate public and the results we are seeing today. That was not the only factor though. The Arabs, Iranians, Turks are not interested either. Nor are the Indonesians.

Better off staying an Islamic Republic where current laws cannot be enacted against Islam. I believe IK is not an Islamist. Maybe the definition is subjective but the current path is fine. There is no need to lean either way.

I believe what Jinnah’s dream of Pakistan is the path Pakistan should follow. Neither go full secular nor become a theocratic state. Just my opinion.
