What's new

A new Huawei phone has defeated US chip sanctions against China

1 nm is the physical limits of classical physics. Smaller than that you need quantum mechanics.

?? which atom you are using for this?

The atomic radius of Copper (Mostly used in IC) are 128 pm...and there are smaller elements
Silicon being ~1.9A. 2nm is 20A. Copper is for interconnect, the transistor is silicon.

This is the truth that people in the West don't want to see.
Antutu CPU score 182480 October 2020 kirin9000 TSMC 5nm
Antutu CPU Score 281599 Apr 2022 Snapdragon 8+Gen 1 TSMC 4nm
Antutu CPU score 279677 August 2023 kirin9000S SMIC N+2

The kirin9000S announced this time has 53% higher performance than the previous model manufactured using TSMC's 5nm process,
and is on par with the Snapdragon 8+Gen 1, which was released just last year.
The speed of China's modernization is frightening and it is only a matter of time before the TSMC kingdom falls.

Well, as I said, let's wait and see, I mean there may be quantum physics breakthrough or material science breakthrough. Never say never.

I think it will require a paradigm shift. Like in 90s in was GHz war. Than it became process war.

I think next will be more on optimization, packaging side and perhaps hybrid processing with analog, photonics or even quantum accelerators for specific type of workloads.

What else is the jewel in the crown of industry?

Materials. Already doing very well there. I read recently T1000 carbon fiber plant has started production.

And of course, staying on topic. High end lithography machines. That’s actually even bigger deal.

"China won't make chips below 60nm"
"China won't make chips below 28nm"
"China won't make chips below 14nm"
"China won't make chips below 7nm"
And so on and so forth.

Nice to see copium up and about in this thread :D
The entire point is that china is will always be technologically inferior compared to the civilized world (the west)

lol, “civilized world”, gun crimes, daily light shop robbery, drug overdosing, homelessness, dilapidated infras... do sound like very civilised.
Then maybe stop going here then?

A lot of them seem to prefer to live in the US if they willing to make the Long March look like a neighborhood walk,

China is already no 1 in many fields of technology now and keep progressing. LOL
China number 1 technology

I can post thousands of pics about decadent US society, but to a troll like you, it's not worth it.
