If ur thinking of buying a smaller car thn go for a new one......... if not thn buy the civic........... Its more comfortable,can carry more people and is luxurious............
The negative point is tht it will consume just a "little" more fuel...........

But il suggest u buy the civic.... :tup:

The tata indica is better then all other but still cant beat cars like honda city,corolla XLi,gli,SA saloon,Civic,Vitz,prado,APV etc popularly used in Pakistan.
And do post pics of tricked out Willy jeeps.

My Observation: that the streets of our neighbouring countries like Lanka,Pakistan,Bangladesh still have more number of foreign cars(may be they are refurbished second hand imports).

but, still Indian streets are full of hatchbacks especially altos,spark,santro,i10/20,indica and now nanos..no toyotas,hondas..etc

In India, unlike other countries, Honda City,Toyota Corolla are less in numbers and are not common men's cars. there is not much a japanese maal obsession in India exception being "Toyota Innova MUV". for eg: Volkswagen Vento sedan slowly displacing the market of Honda City.
unlike Indian markets, these countries have Japanese Vehicles even running for 18-20 years...and it seems vehicles does not get away from roads after these many years( comparing to the number of very old vehicles on-road in India). there is no lack of spares??.

Japanese sells their vehicles with the invisible tag "reliability" as many perceive. yet, it is not completely true or "clicked" in India. please don't consider alto or maruti 800(stopped production) as Japanese cars.

Press says Maruti Suzuki, majority Japanese owned, is going real big - I think biggest in the world as car plants go - investing $ 4-5 Billion. That's including the suppliers. Since we all know a $ can go upto 10-15 times it's value in South Asia, that's more like ~ $ 10 Billion in value.

That HAS to be a Global 1'st. :woot: !

Wot-about China ? Did Japan, Korea, Russia, Malaysia, Turkey, Iran, etc. put up that kind of capacity in 1 shot, specially by a foreign Co.

Makes perfect sense since it's right on the $ 90 Billion (again, in value terms more like $ 900 Billion) Japanese funded Delhi Mumbai Industrial Corridor. Talk about big buck.. :agree:

Audi has now announced the start of production of the all new Audi A6 in India at its Aurangabad facility, the same plant that is also currently producing the Audi A4 and Q5 SUV models. More than 2,000 units of the next generation Audi A6 will now run off the production line every year.


The official start of production was announced in the presence of Kurt Romeiss, Senior Manager Quality, Audi A6, Jürgen Krieger, Senior Manager PreSeries Center, Audi Neckarsulm and Michael Perschke, Head, Audi India. Dr. Leopold-Theodor Heldman, Consul General, Federal Republic of Germany in Mumbai, also graced the occasion as the guest of honour.


Clearly stating that the start of production of the new A6 at Aurangabad will be followed by the official launch of the car later this year, Michael Perschke, Head, Audi India said “The production of the all new Audi A6 underlines our growing presence in the Indian market and reiterates our long term commitment to customers in India. The commencement of production of this next generation Audi A6 is in line with our long term strategy for India and is a precursor to its much-awaited launch later this year.”


Using the core strengths of its top of the line A8L sedan and its super stylish A7 Sportback models, Audi has given this new A6 model a new distinctive fascia and some serious technology upgrade in the form of a 3.0 litre TFSI engine that makes the new A6 even more powerful and efficient than its older generation model. A 2.0 litre TDI mill will also be on offer when the car is launched in India.







Manufacturing of the new Audi A6 will take place in 16 work cycles on one production line at the Aurangabad plant, securing local employment for 126 individuals for the next years to come.

2011 has been an absolutely sizzling year for the German luxury car maker, starting with the launch of its most opulent business class sedan, the Audi A8L, followed by the arrival of its ultra light super fast R8 V10 sports coupe, and its open top (Spyder) version.


The most recent entrants have been the Audi’s most stylish specimen till date in the form of the A7 Sportback along with its second high performance coupe model the Audi RS5, all of which are now on sale in India. And just in case you forgot, the year 2011 has just only hit the halfway mark.

First Made-in -India Mercedes, then BMW, now Audi?

Merc I can understand as they had a solid supplier base thanks to their old time collaborations with Tata trucks and former Bajaj jeep and matador van (now Force motors). Their action area was Mumbai-Pune area and that's exactly where Merc landed.

But BMW, Audi? What next, Made-in-India Jaguar's? Cadillacs ?

Methinks these guys just getting their foot in the door for the long run by re-exporting CKD kits with govt. approved local content with some hanky-panky thrown in. Idea would be to put down the flag on the small present yet large future Indian market while catering to niche markets like Nigeria, Chile, Malaysia, Oz, S.Africa etc. from the Indian operations and growing the market in India. For sure.

Though old, I can wit that the 'ole dabbbas' have gone up-scale over the past 10 yrs.

I went to an 'old dabba' dealer in Connaught Place, New Delhi to check out the sh*t. I was interested in getting one for my retired, ... hehe ... ( .. retarded old Babu ?) Dad re: safety and security reasons.

Seriously, given Indian conditions, this ole dabba is a tank on on the paranoid roads of India. The Co. has been wise enough to focus on the creature comforts and interiors because of it's niche clientele.

The Tata Manza (Quadrajet Aura ABS) has clocked an incredible mileage of 46.33 km per litre. This feat has been achieved by Narayanan Menon, a resident of Coimbatore who has zoomed into the Limca Book of Records.

Narayanan R Menon, Managing Director of Aromen Engineering Company and a proud owner of the Tata Manza has been certified for the remarkable drive on the Coimbatore- Avinashi by-pass on 25th of May 2011. Menon’s Tata Manza covered a long stretch of 72.3 kilometer on road by consuming only 1.58 liters of diesel, which translates to an incredible mileage of 46.33 km per litre.

A mechanical engineer, Menon himself does not credit an amazing mileage to a ‘magic foot’ rather a combination of good driving and car maintenance. For a country where fuel efficiency is a significant factor for automobile ownership and with fuel prices increasing, the feat certainly bodes well for the mileage conscious customer.
