Only 11% want Democracy

Zarvan,

How was the Caliph selected?

Is there a consensus amongst the various sects of Islam on the issue?

Pakistan and the Islamic world is composed of Muslims of sects.

So, can there be a Caliphate (Khalifat)?

this is the problem with most of them as they have no answers.

they do not know of any procedure to select or elect a caliph/khalifa.

they will only tell you it will come automatically and it is not a big deal.

but how they do not know.

it is really embarassing. :hitwall:

The reason of such low perrcentage is the behaviour of our politicians. Our politicians are dictator themselves like Zaedari for PPP and NAwaz Sharif for PMLN.The reason for failure of democratic govts is corruption.
Democracy is the only way of governing PAkistan but religion, cast system and fuedals should be kept aside.

i do not think it is the reason for the low percentage. but such surveys are invalid.

frankly If you ask me, what you prefer, Khilafat or Democracy?

my answer too will be Khilafat as i view khilifa as an authority or guide appointed by God and that is only Imam Mahdi as told by the Holy Prophet (pbuh) and he will come in mecca (and not in PAK.)

so there is no reason to believe in a new unknown form of khilifat propagated by the mafias in pak.

11% votes for democracy .......Not a surprise ..
this is because people have not got their chance to see a fully functional democratic Govt. ....
for the past 64 years no Democratic govt. has completed its time period except pervez musaraf's govt but every one knows the reality of that govt.
I think we should give some time to democracy to evolve in its true form and it require some time and determination as people of Pakistan are not so much educated so its gonna take a long time.

I myself wants Khalfat to be implemented in Pakistan but time is not ripe for this yet as Pakistan already facing the militants problem..
So giving time to Democracy and voting for the right person( although not is ) is the best thing to until the time comes for Khalafat to be implemented...

but how will khilafat be implemented. WIll the indian muslims be part of it? if there is a khilafa, how will the caliph be chosen. willl there be 1 capital like brussels for EU? how will you reconcile cultural difference between islam in malaysia with arabic islam and with liberal turkey and sects like shia, ahmadi sunni etc? Killafa is interersting concept like eu, but it will take a lot more sane heads to bring about it. does this mean that resources in saudi will be used in pak. and resources from pak used by india? lots of questions are there. so i would like to know the concept of khilafa. give me an example of khilafa, (that encompassed ALL muslim countries)

quick question, isnt khilafa just a word for Empire?

quick question, isnt khilafa just a word for Empire?

i do not think the real khilafat is for a particular geography. rathers it is global. while empire is restricted to a certian geography.

The concept of khilafat is the Rule of GOD applicable globally to all geographies.

Empire of faith where anyone can rise to power and it is NOT passed down generations! where leader is held accountable by its people.

HOWEVER, currently islamic world has neither the leaders nor the followers for such an event hence khilafat is totally out of the question!

Correct me if I am wrong; but that is not the same interpretation with other sects, or is it?

Now, if the interpretation is not the same for the other sects of Islam, it will be grounds for disagreement and serious problems.

Therefore, for a country to contemplate having a Caliphate or even being a part of a Caliphate based on the majority sect's interpretation would be a non starter, unless one wants disagreement and confusion leading to serious issues of law and order.

And this is not confined to any single Islamic state contemplating the Caliphate form of governance.

i will answers your posts and others soon.

its too much wow still 11% heehehehee these are hardcore workers of political parties .lolz democracy mean load shedding poverty corruption lawless .these comes to our minds when we talk abut democracy .

You have to give democracy a chance and time for it to florish.
Let me ask you if the following applies to Pakistan.
Do you have

a level of maturity among people for democracy to succeed?
a constitution which is supreme ?
solid institutions which does check and balances?

Democracy is florishing in developing countries like India, Mexico, South Africa and most of Latin America. It is kind of hard to beleive that it does not work in Pakistan.

The concept of Khalafat that can be implemented now a days is not same as the unity of all the muslims into a continent and making a large country type....
The means of khalafat in these days refer to a complete Islamic based system in Pakistan..
but again time for this kind of system to be applied in Pakistan is right .

ummah prevails. A ummah of all muslim countries with the most powerful Islamic country's capital Islamabad as capital is the only solution for all problems of the muslims. :pakistan:
