This thread was just intended so people can know each other well , can know eachother's background so it will help in communicating.

People here ruin the purpose of the forum by being so much biased just because of other being from some hostile country, they don't give a chance to other country members to explain sometimes what they really want to as a result the threads turn into trolling hub, lots of bans, lots of deletion stuff and just a horrible experience for the people who really want to seek some knowledge

As a result i thought of starting this thread so members can not only have fun but get to know bit about each other that may result into bringing the best out of them while commenting or posting .You tend always to behave bit better with those about whom you know a bit. so people might stop being so much biased and have a friendly conversation . That was it

Now people who calling it a stupid thread or other BS might get it that for everything there is a reason .

Most sincere congratulations on handing in your thesis. I remember I was so happy that day (for me back in 1971).

How was the research work and making thesis back then? When you have no wikipedia, google and internet?

From my above post:

"My thesis was in experimental solid state physics. The hardest part is finding a topic, a research project, that is both doable in a reasonable period of time and worthy of a Ph. D. It is probably just as hard today to do an experimental physics Ph.D. as it was 40 years ago when I did mine. "

Lol!! You can't do an experimental physics PhD thesis through internet research! (Or in the library for that matter.) You have to build an apparatus, prepare samples, take data and explain what you see according to the best theoretical understanding that prevails at the time. The key to success is the quality and creativity of the measurement apparatus that you build. You will only pass your thesis committee exam if your experiment uncovers new data or phenomena that advances the field in which you are working.
