I have read the many posts here at the PDF about being very dissatisfied with Zardani and Gilani as leaders at this moment in history for Pakistan. On the other hand, people were dissatisfied with Musharraf and there is also a cloud, from the past, over the head of Nawaz Sharif as well. So who WOULD be the best leader for Pakistan today if, by some magic, you could get a good majority of the Pakistani people to vote for him (or her) and his (or her) party? I apologize for not knowing the backgrounds very well of many of your potential political leaders. My question is one of genuine curiosity as to who you think WOULD be a good leader for Pakistan in these times of both economic and internal security troubles. Is there an up and coming leader in their late 40's or early 50's that could unify a majority of Pakistanis to address your difficulties? If only they were given the chance?

Someone who is educated and sincere even if he/she is not that popular (initially).

No one say Imran Khan please...the guy is confused.

I think from the pure strategic point of view zardari has shown himself to be a consumate politician. He has succeeded in mellowing down the indian backlash by not resorting to a stereotypical Pakistani response of "AGGRESSION WILL BE MET WITH AGGRESSION", but instead has extended his hand out to cooperate with the indians. This has really thrown them off their stance. also the world opinion and consequent backlash has also been successfully countered. I think credit should be given to him for this deed.

My pick is Zaid Hammid though he doesn't have political party but i choose him because he knows the Indian and Zionist psyche very well

i think we have to try imran khan he has plans may be he become good one.

Gen. (rtd) Pervez Musharraf! he went beyond the line of duty to serve Pakistan and her people. By all means, he is the best leader we've had since Mr. Jinnah.

Sir, he has been on a lecture tour he is scheduled to address members of World Affairs Council of Western Michigan at Grand Rapids on 14 January. I don't think he visited Egypt.

Further more, he is also in the process of writing his second memoir.

Well I dont think so...Imran could be the best choice in these circumstances...he has the leadership skills, agression and most importantly sincereity....and he speaks truth...:pakistan:

I think his views on world affairs are childish. How would a man who can't even handle his own political party lead a country? not to mention his cricket leadership.

He argues so much in favor of democracy but his own party is a one man show that keeps failing.

any one qualty he have to become presedent.????:D

He is a straight farward pathan,Imran khan himself recommended his name for the presidency which i think is enough abt his ability. Also,in the current scenario he would have given far more batter reply to the indian propaganda and the air space violation than the ppp govt gave.

P.S.. i m not strongly recommending him...i wish we could have some one like our Quid-e-Azam(a charismatic leadership)

I would opt for Musharraf again, he's the best leader Pakistan has had in past 5 decades. He's well educated, moderate and envissioned and most important, he's a leader.

Benazir's asassination is the only reason he lost last elections, he would have won it easily under normal circumstances.
