US threatens India with sanctions over Iranian Oil

if US sanctions india..Bye bye c17, c130, P8I, Apache etc.... US defence Industry will lose

Tell us - what will happen if US annexes Delhi? I thought I ask because since the talk of sanctions was made up in the Pakistani media and you folks fell for it. I thought why not have a conversation around " what if US annex's Delhi and your favorite Bhel puri spot " :P

Sir, one day I told to few, “even if US had got F22 till early 90s and China had only 2nd/ 3rd gen aircrafts till then, even that time China was capable enough to give certain time period to Britain to leave Hong Kong." And even if India doesn’t get transport aircrafts to put tanks/ troops on the border areas of China when required, then trust me, just put 20,000 Gorakha rifles and 20,000 Rajputana rifles there and they will get your work done. didn’t just 50-60 men of Gorakha rifles had captured Tiger Hill in 99 by just 2-3 arms on their hands? And if it also isnt enough, then in worse case senario on the border of Arunanchal Pradesh, if required, just bring over a million civilians of that state and walk to the lands which belongs to them, your opponent will surrender to you. You gotto trust in yourself first and then in the arms you have on your hands.

And about C17, C130, P8I etc? I read India is paying for the transport aircrafts at least around 1.5 times than what Australia paid for them :what:. Wait and see, those who want money from you will come to your door and market their products and it will only you to decide whether you want to buy them or not. Just kick a$$es of US/ West one time properly and leave them as it is for next 5-6 months and see. they will understand where they stand in this world and then they all will come to your foot after that. and this is set to happen if you can trust in yourself :pop:

lol..time has come to impose sanctions on US..

its so funny to read they threaten India with Sanctions...their companies are literally begging to secure multi billion dollars contracts with India...they are not on good terms with China and Russia...and if they want to impose sactions on India, who else in this world left with considerable progressive economy to trade with? Europe?? They are worst than Africa these days...

With due respect- at 1.5 times it would be 150% better quality, on time, cheaper over the lifetime and won't have supply chain issues like Russians hardware do. Even if you" READ" that it 1.5 times more expensive.

I read similar news as below. prices of Australian, Canadian and US's is mentioned in the last paragraph of this news as below.
even this way, India is paying $410mil each for C-17, while Australia is paying around $350mil each for C-17. while for US, its just around $250mil each for C-17 to make it in US for themselves :)

I have read on many places that US charge India with much higher prices for the same aircrafts/ missiles etc than what they got from their other customers :agree:

June 7/11: India’s Cabinet Committee on Security has reportedly approved a $4.1 billion buy of 10 C-17As.

Australia spent about $1.4 billion, and Canada about $1.6 billion, to buy and induct 4 C-17As into their respective air forces; the USA, who does not have the extra expenses that accompany any new fleet aircraft type, is set to spend $2.5 billion for 10 C-17s in the Senate’s FY 2010 defense budget.

C-17s for India

I'm talking in the same article where you read it being quoted that US threatened sanctions on India.. Or you did not read it before assuming they actually threatened sanctions on India? :P

a Mercedes in Germany costs less than in US - O....M....G!

will be interesting to see how BOTH india and Pakistan tread along this fine wire that's laid out....

on one hand, we'll suffer if our private/commercial/import-export and public banks are slapped with sanctions of any kind...on the other hand, we've invested much time and resources towards the pipeline -- even the Iranians are offering to cover some of the expense of the pipeline assembly on our side.

domestic needs versus international so-called ''obligations'' (mixed with veiled and direct threats)

should be very interesting indeed.....

me personally, i think the entire west should mind it's own business and not stick its overly-curious noses into internal affairs of other countries -- including developing countries.

 thats why i said, you already have many other good russian arms, then just kick a$$es of US/ West properly on any issue, say Iran, and let them travel the whole world with broken a$$es for 5-6 months. they all will come to your boot after just 1-2 years. its you who pay them and even more than other customers, then why to worry much? first prove that you feed them and let them think for a while and then they will come with the ground realities of world :agree:

First I believe you are studying in a business management in a school in the US - so I guess you would understand when I say. There is no India- Pakistan parity, hyphenation and I'm not just talking in terms of economy only but more so in how this particular situation spells out.

To begin with - this " sanction story" was a Pakistani media piece and meme that spread out. So there is NO SANCTION TALK mentioned period anywhere! towards India by the US.

Next- India unlike Pakistan is adhering to the UN sanctions on this and doing so within the time table allowed ! Again- which means there is no issue with US/ India on this. In fact Hillary few weeks back said that US was very happy with the steps India has taken and is taking …

This whole bruhahha about " US threatens sanctions was " dramatic" language used Pakistani media at first followed by some " dramatic concocted up header by a journalist in the telegraph" - that Indians have fallen for. If anyone actually read the two articles , read the actual quotes--- there was no threat. BUT reading an article is not what most do here- they go off " headers" ...

uhh yeah, it was ToI which reported it first

and it wasn't my intention to start a cross-analysis between the economies of each country, so no need for you to discuss the distinctions

i was merely making a point that it will be interesting to follow how they tread along.....india has been a traditional client of Iranian oil; it's no secret that the yanks (and their Saudi allies) are cajoling india to seek alternative sources. It's also no secret that even israel is trying to dissuade india from engaging in commercial relations of any kind with the Islamic Republic.

actually it was Pakistani media piece ( original one) and a telegraph piece that used rabble rousing language of " sanctions and threatens India" in their articlle. http://www.thenews.com.pk/article-40104-US-may-punish-India-for-buying-Iran-oil

Also , you brought the " wonder how they would both act". I simply said why it is no even remotely similar in the case of India or even a " case to wonder how India may act" because … the news is a drama piece and not factual. India is adhering to UN sanctions, Pakistan has decided not to... there is no " more " pressure to act upon the UN sanctions on India vs. say a NATO country. India is adhering to UN sanctions , period.
