no one in india wants to unify these nations.

why some indians say to pakistanis that we would like unification? because they dont wanna make pakistan realize that we hate u guys and want to see u as isolated like the way world does to u guys. it would sound very mean if we say that on ur face.
we broke bangladesh but made a separate nation instead of making it a part of india. pakistan is luck because we dont invade other nations. we simply dont give a phuck. anyways i recommend u go and check wht ur actors and singers who come to india say abt unification :). they talk abt unification too.

btw i love this pakistani national anthem beat, its simply awsome

Hello:

I have had enough with listening to the crap of my Indian neighbors who still are hungover by the 1947 partition. Every Indian that i came across over the years in real life or through social media had views that the partition was unjust & hence should be reversed.

I heard , the rhetoric being beaten up by Indians on international media over and over again - something like - "we are one people" -"partition was stupid"-"If east and west Germany can Unify why not Pakistan and India" - "Unification is the only way to peace".

I want to make it clear that our previous generations might have been a bit confused about the partition , but the generation we raised in the 80s are black blooded Pakistanis. We surely have no confusion about our identity. Many of us today realize the reason for the creation of Pakistan.

Regardless of how much the "Two Nation Theory" is ridiculed by the Indians which is quite natural and understandable & by some naive , short sighted Pakistanis , it does provide a concrete basic of division between Indo Pak.

Looking at the plight of Indian Muslims -regardless of what some apparently Muslim members say- , its confirmed that how Muslims would have been treated if there was no partition. Indians must come to terms with the fact that we are NOT one people , we are different in our way of life , culture , beliefs , dresses , events , language , literature , history , customs , arts , music , food and what not - you name it.

One example is the beef issue , Hindus don't eat beef because its holy to them. We Muslims even cook & love eating its bones. Some Hindus drink its urine where as a single drop of cow urine on Muslim's body or clothes requires a complete ghusl Ghusl - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia.
Hindus don't drink its milk - Muslims have it in their daily diet. Regardless of some of you might say about how "small" this issue is but the fact is that you already have a fault line on a issue as small as dietary , let alone the rest of the affairs.

So , Pakistan doesn't need a unification - get it straight. If the unification is important than the best option for Pakistan is to form a union either state or strategic with Afghanistan.

In the end , i would like to suggest to my Indian folks - we are TWO VERY DIFFERENT NATIONS- Get over it , live & let live , we are not west Germany nor you are East Germany , we were NEVER meant to live as one country.

we were against it like a decade ago but now we completely support how many times i have to say it.

I know a few Pakistanis, Afghans and Lebanese here who eat pork. They just want their non Muslim friends to tell them that its not pork, which makes it ok for them to eat it? Whats the go with that? :what:

Can India and Pakistan unite?

V. S. Dharma Kumar : Fri Aug 17 2007, 00:00 hrs

Sixty years after Partition and Independence, one question refuses to go away: can India and Pakistan ever unite? If dividing India was ‘a fundamental mistake’, should the people of the two nations endure it indefinitely? Righting wrongs is natural. Human stupidity and egoism should not come in the way of correcting past mistakes. Germany, Austria, Yemen and Vietnam, all achieved reunification. The two Koreas are making efforts to reunite.

The first country to attempt this project was Austria. Defeated in the Second World War, it was divided into four parts, controlled by the US, UK, France and the Soviet Union. Through some deft diplomatic efforts, Austria was able to emerge a free democratic and integrated country.

Then take Yemen. Great mistrust existed between the then capitalist North Yemen and communist South Yemen. Their population sizes were different too, and there was a huge gap in their per capita income. They, too, had fought three wars. Yet they were able to unite in May 1990.

East and West Germany fought no war but the Allied Forces divided them. For 40 years the East kept calling the West ‘fascist’, and the West kept calling the East ‘communist’. The Socialist Unity Party even constructed a protective wall against western fascism. Nobody ever thought that the Berlin Wall would fall. But it did.

The Korean peninsula got divided following the Second World War. Soviets and Americans occupied the northern and southern parts respectively. The divided regions became independent and followed diametrically opposing ideologies and ways of life. They fought a fierce war that claimed four million casualties. But winds of change are now blowing over the region and talks aimed at ending hostilities and eventual reunification are under way.

A watershed event in world history was the Vietnam War. The feud between North and South Vietnam was long and bitter. America got involved and participated in a war that raged from the early 1960s to 1975. But the two Vietnams officially united to become the Socialist Republic of Vietnam.

Philosopher Immanuel Kant had suggested in 1795 that the creation of a “federation of free states” is essential for universal peace. But who then visualised that 27 European countries will come together some 198 years later? European unity was only a dream in the minds of philosophers and visionaries. Today, the European Union is a magnificent example of reconciliation. Former antagonists are prospering together.

India and Pakistan are part of the same soul, same stock, same heritage, and same culture. Millions here have suffered when the region was partitioned. For 60 years we have been spending billions of dollars in virtually eliminating each other. We fought four wars. We now have nuclear weapons. The time has come to think about the folly of war and the profit of peace. History we cannot change. History we can create.

Ok I get it.

The OP had a predetermined position regarding Indians wanting unification, and when debunked goes on to force his opinion by pulling out random blogs and looks like he is no going to rest until he brings everyone to his line of thought.

Akhand Bharat FTW.

There it goes, an Indian wanting unification. Happy OP ?

Arguments were stretched to "such thought doesn't exist" - i had to prove it does.

I'm sorry but I have NEVER heard an Indian commentator/opinionator/speaker pitch forward unification with Pakistan. It is pretty clear to see that in the decades post-Partition India and Pakistan have evolved their own distinctive cultures, albeit with some lingering similarities but that could also be said of US culture holding certain European traits. the fact there are thousands/tens of thousands of radial citizens in Pakistan ready to kill an Indian at anyone time does seem to make unification look even more remote. Additonally the social/cultural/religious differences between the two seem to be pretty irreconcilable ie India is a secular democracy with rights for all protected under constitioun whereas Pakistan is by definition a Islamic state which has a checkered history with democracy/military rule.

In regards to Pakistan NOT being West Germany:

@Aeronot, thanks for letting me know.

Pakistan should remove Urdu as its national language, since it is based on the pre-Islamic Khadi Boli dialect of the UP area. Punjabi and Sindhi should also be removed, since they are based on Sanskrit, just like Bengali and Assamese.

Perhaps Pashto should be made the national language of Pakistan.
