Korean's tax dollars at work!

Assuming, of course, that shills for the DPP pay tax. It could very well be a tax-free occupation.

China usually protests and voices concerns every time the US sells arms to Taiwan, but this time she treats it as non factor. I wonder why? Perhaps she welcomes Taiwan to be a party of SCS disputes.

If their objective is to "offset the perceived military threat from China" then they need to buy the whole US navy fleet.

I don't think so, reasons:
1. China's surplus power to deal with ASEAN countries, who has EEZ in the south china sea (Philippines, Brunei, Malaysia, Indonesia, Vietnam) even when they combined power. The thing that China lacks, it is the legal basis, not power..
2. The position of Taiwan intensified further absurdity and lack of legal basis of its own claims. So it does not help the PRC's claims, but also adds to the irony....

I dont think so:

1. sovereignty of China in the territory over EEZ
2. there is no irony here as Taiwan which is a part of China also claims sovereignty over the islands in the area and occupies Taiping Island.

Taiwan's purchase of the warships are deployable when war breaks out against Vietnam and/or the Philippines!

You foolishly ill-educated!

Taiwan claims the whole South China Sea as its territory. The nine-segmant line over South China Sea was set by Taiwan.

Taiwan now has no reasons to go conflict with mainland. It may rather join mainland against Viet and Pinoy claims.

Republic of China (Taiwan) claims more territory than the People’s Republic of China (mainland), both on land and sea.

Do you see your stupidity for your foolish gleefulness now?

Good news. The four ships would certainly be under the PLA navy flag given that China and Taiwan relationship is at its best for decades and Taiwan would soon intergrate its mother and holy land to form the Great Chinese empire.

Taiwanese see it differently. China is nothing more than a poor 3rd world bully in the eyes of Taiwanese, and the Taiwan resident's self identification was "Taiwanese" has never been stronger.

Taiwan has no real interest in connecting with the mainland politically, at least not until the mainland becomes a multi-party democracy.

Taiwan, even without joining force with China will add to the legitimacy of the Chinese claims. It will also deters Uncle Sam from over meddling because she is a more important ally/customer for her than the other poor nations. Uncle always favors his better looking children.

Are the going to buy LCS?
They are huge ship's....
Taiwan even have the capacity to maintain and to old ships's in that size?
:coffee:

NO body can predict the future. Neither me nor you. As you should know the KMT always holds the dream that some day she might becomes a legitimate party of China.

hell, they even claim the entire china mainland. ;)

so whatever china claims = what taiwan claims = what china claims. it's only that they don't have the muscle to assert their claims, but china does.

That's why I said the KMT would not politically engage China until China becomes a multi-party democracy so that KMT can compete for mainland votes.
