Actually it isn't covered that much in this forum. Anti-Corruption drive in India has been reported by Western Media a lot. Leader of it Anna Hazare has become a household name. But unrealistic demands and lack of vision to start the program at basic level first and then progressing upwards in the pyramid structure is the major hurdle.

India is working very hard in alleviating poverty. Almost 1% of Indian population is brought out of poverty every year. Its a gradual process.

Primary education has been prime concern of our planning commission too, more effort is made in it in comparison to higher and graduation level education.

Reason being you guys hear a lot about "India will" is essentially because its a good bashing point as people add LCA, Kaveri and other delayed programs to it. What India is doing is not reported ?

In Indian state of Gujrat, canals are covered with Solar panels which will not only generate electricity but save millions of litres of water every year. There is also a project to suspend micro turbines to generate electricity from water flowing these canals. Point is people don't generally discuss about India achievements rather they focus more on bashing India on failed ones.

For more information diffusion, we need quality threads not quantity so that ideas can be shared. China has faced droughts and floods and this model of Gujrat can easily be implemented by your govt. all around China for these problems and generation of electricity too. Think of this and you will see how we can help each other out. But in this forum, most of the Indians and Chinese just fight rather than discuss constructively.

Llolll but the thing is that instead of Doing all this India should try to eliminate poverty. Only that should be the concern.

As a matter of fact, India has been appreciated for its effort in eliminating it, even by West.

You cannot alleviate poverty without the means to do it genius. This is not a communist hell hole, where you take from the rich and give to the poor.

And how do we eliminate that without developing economy. You chinese fart a lot that eliminate poverty, this and that, but dont give any true high iq solution. Please how do we eliminate poverty without developing industry and economy.

Spot fixing and copying, thats the chinese way :P

Whoa Whoa! Easy tiger! No need to get all charged up as if it was personal attack . :)

Why dont you look in this thread what people have said that yes they had initial problem, yes people dont buy it because of it being world's cheapest car etc etc. Also, I have merely added a recent statement by Ratan tata that there seem to be some issues with Nano. I also remember Nano had to call back hundreds of units last year due to some suspension issue at the assembly line. So all these things add up. Thats all!

I dont need to rephrase any thing, may be you ought to look at my statement from a different angle. :)

(Note: I am sure Rising Sun will not be thanking me or will he? seems he only thanks people replying to my quote) LOL

what do u mean by that?

what u said can be applicable if one is producing something in mass scale but their own people are deprived of it....here the case is, after meeting the domestic demand we are exporting the surplus...so where did you see the problem? since our production capacity has increased do u expect we to force ppl to buy our product? and all dis has nothing to do with Nano...not all products see the success as expected by its developers..its a basic thing!

seems some problem in your thought process..may be u need to rephrase what u said..

@solidarity --- Jigar Kidhar??? No Introductory thread, No gun shots?

you forgot to read the article. It is from a Xinhua and the claim is made by PwC, not by us. Take up your issue with PwC

Ok lets not talk about future...Today India is fifth Largest Car Maker....Nothing less achievement....

So you are suggesting India that we should close all the factories etc since we have poverty and corruption.

Globally, a manufacturer makes products if there is demand in market otherwise the product will be sitting on shelf and wont sell. Even if you dont wanna do this, there isnt any other way. Since Pakistan is a part of globe, things work here in similar fashion. Now you cant claim you didnt know because you heard it first hand from a Pakistani! :)

Frankly i dont know what are you trying to say in your comment. Are you saying Nano is being manufactured because there is demand for it? or, are you saying because the demand for Nano has gone down within India, they are planning to export it? (for ref: kindly refer to some links below)

Is the Tata Nano a failure?

Tata

Manufacturing only happens when there is demand in the market. This is capitalism and this is how India works. I don't know how Pakistan works.
