India’s showpiece Aakash tablet Chinese made?

You are competitor in poverty too. Its just no democracy and no free media dont allow the information to reach to you. My sympathies. :cheesy:

Excuse me, but it's fascinating for me to imagine what democracy means to the world capital of open defecation, in preatical sense...

surely you lot have to resort to voting whenever dealing with having #1 and #2 calls? if so, then what you gonna do if the voting result is in stalemate? Ca@pping in the pants then? The presence of free media and your world-leading super size mouth would make the event hilariously more transparent needless to conclude?

The Owner of company has denied the allegation. If they have cheated govt, they will be penalised.

By the way don't insult Akash by saying it Chinese product.

imagine these public defecators fondling a fine chinese product right after they crap on the street and wipe their holes with their hands...and after appending a disgusting yindoo name like aakash to it...yiiiiiiiiiikes, what an insult to the industrious chinese manufacturers for their work to be associated with these lowly creatures of customers!

India low-cost tablet not a product of China | ZDNet

In response to allegations India's low-cost Aakash tablets were bought off-the-shelf in China, the company behind the device has explained certain parts were manufactured in the Chinese market primarily to speed up the production process, but the software development and assembling of the tablet components were done in India.

Suneet Singh Tuli, CEO of U.K.-based company Datawind, in a statement said the motherboards and kits used in the the first 10,000 units for Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) were manufactured in its Chinese subcontractor's facilities "for expediency sake", whereas the final assembly and programming were done in India, AFP reported Saturday. Tuli added this step was "well discussed" and approval was given by IIT-Bombay prior to shipping.
Soooo.... suddenly from nowhere chinese products are reliable for you? HAHAHA these folk:undecided:

Err - so? Where else would you build the world's cheapest tablet? In China, these poor peasants with simple brains and few demands will work 16 hours a day for a handful of rice. As it is, building a tablet is a fairly simple process and requires little skill - it is suited to the Chinese mindset. If any electronic item costs less than $50 - invariably it has to be built in China.

I really doubt anything made-in-china can ever be called reliable. I don't think even the people buying them expect these tabs to last more than a few months.
