Regarding its ECM.....

keep in mind that South Korea marketed its ALQ-200 DRFM based system to PAF in 2004-05, since the system is based on American ew tech, the Americans blocked the sale. But skeptics believe South Koreans sold its components instead of the podded version.

A typical example is the ALQ-200, an external radar jammer manufactured by LIG Nex1. The Agency for Defense Development (ADD) has promoted the ALQ-200, which, when attached to the underside of an aircraft, detects radar waves coming from enemy missiles and scrambles them, as its own technology, but the United States suspects the technology was pirated. In particular, the U.S. was reportedly shocked when South Korea pushed to export the technology to Pakistan, where it might be installed on Chinese-made fighters, and plans to export the jammer were canceled.

And then, this is from the horse's mouth....

For self-defense JF-17 has a fully integrated system for electronic battle that according to Group Captain Ahsan is not of Chinese origin. The system comes with all of the earth equipment package, which is crucial for independent use, primarily for the "construction" of data bases on opposing signals radar / air defense systems and the development of techniques for their interference. The system consists of a central control unit and four subsystems, radar detector irradiation (RWR), detectors approaching missiles (Maws), launchers, IR and radar decoys and distractor. At Airshow China 2012 plane is presented with a distractor KG-300G but still not confirmed if that was used by Pakistan's Air Force. According to the brochure, the system is highly customizable and can be fully integrated with other subsystems such as RWR or Maws.

The link is not working Sir.

This one should work:

About engines my estimate is PAF will continue with RD-93, where as WS-13 is for exports only.
There is simply, too big pipeline for RD-93 orders.

China National Aero-Technology Import & Export Corporation - Airborne EO Equipment

The WMD-7 pod is the day/night targeting pod for the JF 17. But because of the absence of a seperate designated hard point for the pod it is most likeley going to reduce the availablity of the number of hardpoints on the JF 17.

THe KG 300 is the dedicated jamming pod for the JF 17

With EO pod

KG 300 jamming pod

The ability for the KG 300 is under scrutiny because of the lower electrical output of the single engine RD 93.

APU can be used to power additional loads. standard procedure in Civil, pretty sure its the same in military.

I also wish that JF-17 Block-IIs and even Block-IIIs will be produce in 150 numbers each which will make about 300 Aircraft. I am sure it depends upon the finance of the GoP.

Just wondering, if it is based on the above mentioned formula, why it mentions 298 AK in 2012 when in reality the plan called for 315 mbts by 2007?

Maybe inaccurate estimate of the production rate? Outdated production rate? More accurate production rate? More accurate number estimate? More accurate info? No one asked them, so don't know.

yup, bottom line aerodynamics T/W isnt the most important thing in 4.5 gen aircrafts .
and jf-17 has better T/W than either gripen or mirage due to it being much lighter than both.

As I said, it only has the better TWR in AB thrust, but dogfights for example, where the aerodynamics and thrust will be important, are held in dry conditions and there these fighters has advantages over JF 17. When you then they also have advantages in turn rates, or wingloading, or AoA, it turns out even more in their favour, not to mention when the avionics and partially the weapons will be added into the evaluations.
However, what is often downplayed here is the lack of modern RCS reduction features and that should be the field where the JF 17 lacks behind the most, compared to a Gripen, which was designed with a low RCS in mind.

it has a lowest RCS in PAF as of now
