A 'Modi'-fication' of Indian politics

The muslim community in India has chosen to become football, instead of integrating with the rest of India.

I see no reason to grant them special status or for providing them with any additional welfare. They have as much right over resources as any other Indian. Nothing more, nothing less.

That is no reason to vote for Modi.

Even the congress has done its job.

Govt. job is to provide governance. Good or Bad is irrelevant. There is nothing in the constitution that ask the govt. of the day to provide Great governance or even good governance.

So then why vote for Modi ? Might as well vote for congress.
Well I would like to differ there, it matters to me if a government is not providing good governance, Modi is an alternative and thus my Vote to him.

Which is to say he does more than just his Job.

He has a reputation for doing a GOOD JOB and what you really expect him to do is a GOOD JOB, possibly a Great job. So why not just say that ? .......... it would affect your secular credibility but at least you get to be honest.

True. Everybody in India seem to have forgotten how general elections work. From PDFites to journalists, and everybody else. How many Indians reading this will vote for Modi in the elections? None of you, except the ones who are registered in his constituency, and support him. The rest of you will vote for the representatives from your constituency. In the end, if BJP can get 272 seats, or form an alliance of 272, then Modi will be PM. That's it. I don't know why everybody is going on about being pro-modi or anti-modi. It is about parties and coalitions, people. Not about individual politicians.

I wonder what Modi would do if he wins (most possibly), but BJP doesn't - will he then sit in parliament as an opposition MP, or would he rather remain CM of gujarat? Perhaps they will make him leader of the oppn, in such a scenario.

If I may use my crystal ball to predict, this is going to be one election with a very fractured mandate, with nobody being able to muster a stable coalition. There will be plenty of post election horse trading.

Now u said how general election works assembly election works exactly like that I am from gujrat but I didn't voted for modi in assembly in that case no body other then maninagar had voted for modi same will be the case in general election if u want to bring modi in power in gen. Election u have to vote for his representative ..

Yes there is a chance of fractured mandate in this general election but as far as the mood of most people in india seems in favor to bring modi so they will vote for bjp or the party who is supporting bjp also the MP dont have much work to do in there respective state so I hope people don't think much for the representative of MODI .

I would like to share some thing about last assembly election of gujrat in last election everyone in gujrat was against modi be it congress , the media , some bjp members , a particular cast which has more voters then many other , even viswhindu parishad was against modi in that election and few others so in short everyone thought that modi need some divine intervention to even reach to seat which is requires to form govt. but to every ones suprise modi get FAR more seat then it requires it was nothing short of miracle for me as weell .

So u can not under esteemate modi charisma this LS election may surprise many ..[/quote]

LOL. When did you get your "vision" ? .......are you planning to bring other "Blind" Indians "Into the Light" ?

Clearly India has been waiting you to find "enlightened" and "Open their eyes".

Condescending prick.

As on 31 March 2007, the figure for malnourished children in Gujarat was the highest in the country – at 70.69 percent, well above the national average of 50.1 percent.

But guess what happened by 2011? Gujarat is the most improved state with malnourishment down to 38.77 percent – the sharpest improvement in India. Not only that, Gujarat is now comfortably above the national average on malnourishment at 41.16 percent. Says the CAG report: “There was substantial decrease in the malnourished children in six states. Gujarat, from 71 to 39 percent

Christophe Jaffrelot, professor of Indian Politics and Sociology at King's India Institute, London, recently wrote in an article titled "No Model State" that Gujarat's progress is because of the freebies handed to industry at the cost of the state exchequer. It adds the state's progress is fueled by huge debt which has grown from 45 billion rupees (US$8.39 billion) in 2002 to 1.3 trillion rupees today.

what about the Recent US closure.? why we hate ourself and need certificate of westerns. we need to built our own confidence, faith and truth which will tell us how better we asians are.

My dear friend , India is not Gujarat , ever state his its own equations . the fact is there no tide for modi except online and among bjp supporters. but they do not constitute the majority of Indians. the next election will see the emergence of regional sartaps, and should the 3 front reach the 150-170 number , its they who will form the govt with outside support of the congress.

PS: not even the most die hard bjp supporter believes that modi will win a majority .

I've lived in Gujarat so I know what I'm talking about. No Indian city measures up to cities even in more 'average' countries like Vietnam.
