What's new

$3 billion from Saudi Arabia to the Lebanese National Army

Do you have any details regarding contracts that were offered? And what equipment was offered?

Was it strictly equipment or maintenance?

Nothing been mentioned so far. All what we know is that these weapons will enable the Lebanese army to exert far greater defensive measures.

I doubt it, it's a stupid army in my opinion just like most useless Arabic armies.

That's your opinion, we respect it.

If anything could be achieved via this decision, it will enhance Lebanon's capabilities against the civil unrest, armed groups, and terror militias.

No it won't. You're just speaking logistically you don't the reality on the ground and you're providing free useful equipment to Hezbollah and the black market in Lebanon. Even if a a few dozen thousand of the equipment gets in others hands.

I don't blame you for having such opinion.

The cabinet won't approve any foreign aid without an extensive research on the claimant per country, unless you know something the Saudi defense establishment doesn't know of.

Look at the Gaza Strip, a government without much funding yet security and law and order is so organized there.

The solution is not just money and equipment.

Palestinian security forces in Gaza are ill equipped yet know how to deal with security matters better than their Arabic neighbors.

You don't Lebanon well and Saudi Arabia isn't playing for the benefit of Lebanon it's to lash out at Iran.

I'm not interested in debating on Gaza.

Lebanon is one thing, Gaza is another.

As I said earlier, I don't think you know better than KSA's Gov't in terms of what is the interests of Lebanon and isn't.

I wasn't speaking about the interests of Lebanon.

And KSA isn't perfect, I wonder what this 'extensive research' was made up of?

Probably the USA did it for them? A plan to destroy another Arabic country?
