India's northeast speaks out against racism

You seem to have a very superficial grasp (or no grasp) of Indian history. If that were true, we would have ended up as the Persians did: converted entirely to Islam in less than 3 decades. India, even during Muslim and British occupation, has always been run mostly by regional Hindu kings, whose conflicts were managed by centralized empires. The Mughals and the British both derived their power from these kings, and initially lost battles to many of them individually. Obviously, it is much easier to attack balkanized smaller kingdoms individually than attacking them all at once, especially if they hate each other. This is what the British did. "Divide and conquer" isn't a term Indians just throw around for fun; It's how, time after time, groups have managed to attain footholds in the subcontinent and leech off of it.
I for one am grateful that our ancestors fought off conversion, maintaining their honor, dignity, and heritage, even as great empires in East, Central, and West Asia could not.

Well, after Mughal and British occupation, Hinduism became a dying religion. If it was not Swami Vivekananda, whose great efforts elevated Hinduism into a major religion in the world, most of the Indians would have ended up being either atheists or Abrahamic converts!

Swami Vivekananda was a great personality no doubt. The major reformers of Hinduism came from Bengal during this period and Vivekananda was one of the major ones in a long line.

Sanatan Dharma has always had great yogis who come periodically to revive/reform the Dharma from the prevailing issues. Sanatan itself means forever. Dharma is not going anywhere. In Kaliyug some Adharmic violent practices will be in vogue but this is all temporary.

Dharma is sanatan and forever.

It was never meant for the local police or for para-military police. More than 90% of the abuse occurs due to these elements, and the bad name goes to the military.

I don't agree with you; you cannot condemn the AFSPA because it has been extended to forces which do not need it, and have abused it.

There are constitutional reasons why it is needed when the military act in support of the civil power, where civilian authority has already broken down.
You must be joking.

How do they get to abuse the power then ?? who is responsible? politicians , military ,President of republic? who?

about AFSPA ,what has it solved ?. How many generations of civilian suffering is enough for you? People don't differentiate between military and paramilitary forces , all they see and feel is there suffering they have to endure because of this particular law.

It would be nice if they can stop killing each other and learn to treat others with civility. Open up their hearts to the rest of India and provide other Indians with the same right as the rights provided to them outside their state. (right to buy property)

That way the AFSPA and related forces need not be deployed there and can come back to their home and family.

it tears me apart and causes my heart to bleed but the eastern mongoloid indians the best can do is to either leave india or declare a independent state, otherwise i don't expect any positive response from the mainland indians

Perhaps a merger with china is a much better solution for them

what ?? your post makes no sense ,please elaborate

The CRPF does not want to be deployed in the NE.

The Army does not want to be deployed in the NE

The RR does not want to to be deployed in the NE

The GoI does not like to deploy the armed forces in the NE

So why are they there in the first place ??

Citizens from NE can buy properties in the rest of India while Indians from the rest of India cannot buy property in the NE. WHY ?? What makes you so special ?

that is the optimum solution to all but alas our society doesnt work that way. one or two rotten apples are always there to screw the situation.

......tell that to the one's supporting the rotten apples.

Why does the rotten apples outside the NE not get to screw the situation in the rest of India ?

bcoz its gonna change all the NE states in "tripura"s.
after what happened in tripura, the GoI realized the potential demography change in those states (and the friction resulting from that - for eg bodo - muslim friction) and made the law to protect the interests of the indegenous ppl.

u make me laugh.....not to screw the situation in the rest of india ???? --kerela/ wb/ up / bihar --- u call them unscrewed ???

LOL..... somehow the NE states are more special than the rest of India where the demographic change will take place due to legal migration. Amazing logic.

The rest of India does not have the central forces deployed there. The civil state govt. is COMPETENT to handle the situation.

Don't move the goalpost in a debate.

u guys have already moved the goal post from racism to AFSPA n deployment of forces.
since the topic has shifted from racism to deployment of forces and how it shapes the look of those states.... deployment of forces doesnt mean the worst situation. althoh, granted that the situation is , more of than not , secession. but society as a whole might be a whole lot better than maybe...WB for instance. Just becoz WB isnt going up for seccessionist struggle , they arent slapped with AFSPA. I ll give u an example, 30 years back there had been such struggle in west bengal starting in naxalbari , it was seccesionist and guess wat happened. gross violations and abuse of power...still continues today to some degree. punjab, the heart of india....went on the same path...a decade later.

no....
its my duty to voice my concern wherever i can....they are my countrymen too.

Who is "you guys" ?

Well then ask the state govt. to request the centre to withdraw the troops. Its the state which has requested the forces because they are incapable of handling the situation. :cheesy:

I am sure the GoI will he glad and happy to do so. Just make sure the constitution of India is still in effect there when the troops pull out.

cause if the constitution of India is violated then the forces come back. The same as in the rest of India.

Once you do that, we can then talking about giving the rest of Indians the same right in the NE. :coffee:

bhais ke aage been bajao ,bhais rahe purwai

Usko bajane do bhaiya .....teri gandh me kyo aag lagi ?
