If India makes more longrange ICBMs, Beijing may help Pakistan do the same, says Chinese state media

If Chinese will be stupid enough, all the power to them.

A Pakistani ICBM is a threat to USA's allies and not India. US already refuses MTCR membership because of its missile proliferation, after which China levied self imposed ban in 2005 on exporting missile technology.

Offcourse Chinese chances of getting into MTCR will become Nil, further more, Americans might supply sophisticated arms to China's enemies, like Vietnam, might encourage India do the same.

Indian objective in Missile development is to be able hit every part of China from any part of India with MIRV warheads and off course a submarine launched ICBM.

India should call the chinese bluff. Pakistan can have 20000 km ICBM for all we care.

We need to have 8000 km ICBM just to make sure chinese suffer if they dare hit us.

NEW DELHI: Beijing wants to communicate the message that if India increases the number of its long-range missiles, it will help "all-weather friend" Pakistan do the same, Chinese media said.

The context to this comment was India's final test firing of the Agni-IV+ inter-continental ballistic missile (ICBM) on Monday.

"If the UN Security Council has no objection over this (ICBMs), let it be. The range of Pakistan's nuclear missiles will also see an increase," the state-run Global Times said in an editorial, hinting that China will help Pakistan come on par with India.

News outfits in China are often used by the government to convey its opinions or to test the waters or to deliver rebukes it can't through diplomatic channels.

Global Times's editorial further batted for Pakistan saying it should be accorded the same nuclear privileges as India.

"If the Western countries accept India as a nuclear country and are indifferent to the nuclear race between India and Pakistan, China will not stand out and stick rigidly to those nuclear rules as necessary. At this time, Pakistan should have those privileges in nuclear development that India has," the editorial said.

On the one hand, the editorial said China isn't bothered by India's testing of missiles that can carry nuclear warheads, but on the other it did sound like Beijing was perturbed by Agni-IV, especially as it came close on the heels of the successful test-firing of Agni-V+ .

"...Chinese don't feel India's development has posed any big threat to it. And India wouldn't be considered as China's main rival in the long run," the editorial first says.

"But it (China) will not sit still if India goes too far...New Delhi understands that it does little good to itself if the Sino-Indian relations are ruined by any geopolitical tricks," the editorial says later.

Aside from these issues, the editorial alleged that India "has broken the UN's limits" on how many nuclear weapons and long-range ballistic missiles it can produce.

"The US and some Western countries have also bent the rules on its nuclear plans. New Delhi is no longer satisfied with its nuclear capability and is seeking intercontinental ballistic missiles that can target anywhere in the world and then it can land on an equal footing with the UN Security Council's five permanent members," the editorial said.

On Monday, India successfully tested - for the final time - its long-range ballistic missile, Agni-IV, which can travel 4,000 kilometres. No long before that, it successfully test-fired Agni-V that has a range of more than 5,000 kilometres and can reach Europe and the northernmost parts of China.

I fully support this Chinese move to help dear Pakistan.

But this action by china will violate International proliferation laws.
And we know that both PR China and IR Pakistan have a spotless record there.

Russia is in now way interested to sell em yakhoont's scaled down copies :D

lol.. Vietnam already operates Yakhont and there is a reason why they are more interested in BRAHMOS, the so called scaled down version of Yakhoont. May your delusions help you get a peaceful sleep.

Besides, I wasn't even talking of BRAHMOS. BRAHMOS will be theirs pretty soon. There are way bigger and better items.

lol icbm to pakistan provided by china that can hit west and usa, is a very good idea.
Win win for india

Clandestine help.
Not transfer of the complete weapon system like Agni series. We can help Vietnam indigenously 'develop' Ballistic missiles.

Again it will be all short range stuff and also quite time consuming. There might be a new world order already in place when first such missile is test fired by Vietnam.

There is no such thing as a static new world order. Nothing is static. Power balances change constantly. These changes affect the world order constantly as well.

Should Vietnam become capable of targeting every part of China using ballistic missiles, it would bring about a big change in the existing balance of power in the region (East Asia).

Should Japan remove the pacifism (happening already) from its constitution and start arming itself with Ballistic missiles, it would bring about a big change in the existing balance of power of that region.

We can do to China what China is doing to us - arm India's only enemy in South Asia - Pakistan. China has much more enemies in East Asia than we have in South Asia.

India also knows Statecraft. Our Government for the last decade was weak. That is no longer the case.

Pakistan's Shaheen-3 already covers all of india so all this policy does is give pakistan nukes that can strike the west.

The truth is that a rising india scares the **** out of china. Wonder how they will react when agni-6 is test fired later this year? lol:lol:

Good thing .

Atleast South and East Asian Cold war will lead to incredible development in technology .
Pakistan making top notch ICBM's will only push us into making better technology .

Pakistan don't need an ICBM to annihilate India. LOL :p:

It is apparently like China saying to the west especially USA, if you can't stop India, we will shoot you from Pakistan's shoulder. LOL

Pakistan already very much covers India, so is China blackmailing India or the west with such statements?

They are too insecure now....

This is the same media which said the missile is very bulk so Indian army can't transport them since our roads along eastern sector is weak after the first ever test....

Now chinese are becoming pathetic

As i have said even earlier that Chinese are using Pakistan against Republic of India since the time of partition but if one can see more deeper than Indian nation can understand the great game .

Shimla Accords 1912 and Balfour Declaration 1916.

Doesn't effect India much. Pakistan already has the capability to hit most of India. But this action by china will violate International proliferation laws.

Not really because Republic of India has already actived 3 tier Missile Shield.Republic of India's Missiles launchers and interceptors are placed.

I think this is the best time to test our long range missiles , we have 2 P5 countries support that we never ever have before China+ Russia
