Of course, this begs the question for the rest of Pakistan. The criminal justice system is the same across Pakistan. The long delays in court cases, bribes etc.....If sharia is so attractive for swat, isn't there a case for it to be implemented throughout Pakistan?

Precisely. That's why I mentioned 'in limbo'. The million dollar question is whether we are seeing a trend towards the Caliphate, or the concept of nation states (if such a trend can be discernable!). ...in fact I'm curious as to which 'factors' would/should be weighed in if one were to design...
