This is the story of the 80's generation.

20 years ago, we saw a war that was like a scifi film. It was like when Lin Zhexu first saw the gunships of Britain.

18 years ago, I made a model of the YF-22, while to my side on the cover of <Aerospace Knowledge>, there was still the image of the venerable J-7.

17 years ago, our freighter was intercepted on the Indian ocean, and that was when we learned our Foreign Ministry was actually the "Complaint Ministry"

15 years ago, the carriers came to our home door, and we were too tired to even protest.

12 years ago, 3 JDAMs made the whole country rage. 3 of our comrades used their lives to remind us, what is imperialism.

11 years ago, rumors and images of the J-10 spread on the internet. A that dark time, those few blurry images, those crude models, were the hope of China's military enthusiasts, the tiny flicker of light in the unending darkness.

10 years ago, after the South Seas plane crash, the number of future air warfare novels published on the net reached a climax. Military enthusiasts can only use these methods to release their anger and rage, give themselves some weakening hope.

8 years ago, the F-22 entered service, but our J-10 only stayed on the lips and tongue of HKC and BKC. Our J-10's seemed destined to be backwards before it even entered service. Our distance from the US seemed to be in units of light years.

5 years ago, the J-10 was announced. Although this was the 3rd year after the F-22 entered service, although the J-10's proposed opponents were already 20 year old planes, but we were still very happy. I still remember how Yang Wei, or someone, said to the camera: now, we can already see the US's back, the distance is close.

4 years ago, Taihang engine was made avaliable and the war between HKC and BKC reached a peak. For the enthusiasts who had just seen a sliver of light, even the thrust:weight ratio = 8 Taihang engine just seemed "not enough". The thrust:weight ratio = 10 F-119 style engines seemed to be a legend, a godlike artifact that can only be admired but never approached.

2 years ago, Gates declared, China can never have a stealth plane before 2025. We wanted to counter argue, but we had no evidence, even General He's promise, seemed to be just an empty promise.

Today, our stealth plane flew.

nice post. i wish indian government/R&D centres learn a thing or two from our chineese counterparts. dont make tall claims and do u r work quietly. the world sooner or later will acknowledge u r effort.

i wish indian govt eradicates the coruption that is prevalent in our R&D set up.

god job china.

i guess many chinese are getting nostalgic.. it is just a prototype still... its features and abilities are not yet public.. chinese usually control their emotions until the final product is ready... but i guess in this case a few might have gone overboard..

anyways.. i would like to get a reference to the quoted content...

guess this is release for political reason....
Don't know why I have no special emotion for this J-20 at all...
Its like looking at a product that is going to release in 10 years...
This is more like a show off, of capabilities... and not the J-20

Effect is already there..GoI has approved the money for AMCA tech demo..
This technological leap of china is proving good for us too although in a different way..

The chronology of events stated above made me, even though i am not Chinese, feel touched. Those chronological events should motivate all weak people in the world that if you work hard, you can match or even surpass someone stronger or smarter than you.

I always thought you were Malaysian Chinese. Are you a Malay?

Today, our stealth plane flew.

1 year go, our WS-15's prototype surpassed the F-119

1 year from now, our first carrier will be launched

The chronology of events stated above made me, even though i am not Chinese, feel touched. Those chronological events should motivate all weak people in the world that if you work hard, you can match or even surpass someone stronger or smarter than you.

Can't say they are smarter than us, but they definitely have been much stronger than us for a very long time.
