Avalanche traps about 150 Pakistani soldiers

Tough time and year for pakistan

India should help the rescue efforts in anyway possible.May be our ALh Dhruv's can be handy.
may god be with them.there are high chances of their survival.

yeah its perfect time for India to show that Indians are our long lost brothers!

Assuming that majority of soldiers were inside the Battalion HQ building+they are trained personnel, chances of them surviving is very much high, only thing to do is to dig them up from the snow ASAP.

In my opinion,India should issue a statement that it is ready to give help if asked, and help them when asked.

Any updates ? Hope they all are safe and soon join their family

Gut wrenching news. Soldiers missing - soldiers lost not sure but it must be hellish news for their families. Lets all pray united for good news. I am sure the sentiments from all members will be the same.
We can talk about demilitarization on the glacier another day - In the interest of sanity and prevention of such tragic accidents on both sides let common sense prevail.

Too bitter for news.
Over a hundred brave men, who have kept their lives at stake for years, for others whom they don't even know, are now an inch close to death due to natural disaster.
Being trapped in huge mountains of snow, and surviving, is near impossible. Your heart systems fail, you have no oxygen supply, you cannot move and the pressure just keeps on building.

The bodies are being recovered now, Inna Lilahi wa inna ilahi rajion. May Allah bless their souls with extreme ranks in Jannah, and help their families.
How so ever quick the reaction was, fighting against nature is difficult.

Hoping for safe retrieval of the troops. They are doing their duty in extremely harsh conditions.

Siachin is one issue that has more or less consensus on both sides about the solution. We should move fast to resolve this and other minor disputes.

More soldiers have died due to the harsh conditions than in actual combat - says it all.
Ive just heard on the BBC news that Pakistan army spokesman Major General Athar Abbas said some bodies had been recovered but would not say how many had survived. Lets pray for these souls and pray for the best.

ISPR..rep has just been on BBC..and says bodies have been recovered so...sadly there have been fatalities

Must be a really painful way to die too, to be buried alive under tons of snow. Unable to move or breathe while getting crushed by the pressure. Damn.

I wish both countries can come to an agreement on complete demilitarisation of the glacier, with maybe joint observers from both countries monitoring the region to ensure that the other side is not covertly building forces. Such an agreement can save hundreds of lives and millions of dollars every year for both countries.

5 bodies hve recoverd till now, media reporting now, may allaha accept, their sacrificess, & give their souls, the ultimate, peace & award, which he promise, our holy book!

cadaver dogs have already found bodies. :( salute to the brave sons of the soil - Pakistan loves you.
