Bangladesh seeks India`s help to set up nuclear reactor

Back then we were completing TAPS-3,4, i.e indigenous,550 MWe PWR power plants, and now we are doing 700 mwe reactors

dude theres no point to market the reactors the wa ur doing here. there reactors are uc and still take many years to prove they r reliable and safe. ahwr will start constructiion in 2013 or 14. we can only show our capabilities when all are operational and safe. so wait

It's not about reliability per se. Indian govt. wouldn't have built them if they would not have been safe. The point is, the AHWRs tech that India uses, produces quite a lot of radioactive wastes which are almost in a form which can be easily be used for making bombs.

Eg. recently BARC developed some liquid catalyst method to extract Tritium from Heavy water. Tritium is the most important component of producing hydrogen bombs. These new AHWRs will be capable of producing as much Tritium needed to produce 10-20 Hydrogen bombs per year.

#US stopped producing Tritium way back in 1989.

IMO, the indigenous reactors would never be exported in current form.

yeah tru that why we have a different export verion but no country will buy it unless it has been tried and tested in india for atleast 5-10 years.

Four,700mw PHWR are already under construction as of now, and the construction on four more will start soon...
Secondly, the 700mw phwr one of the safest in the world, this 700 mw if infact an enlarged version of taps-3,4, and we have good experience, and real time data available for taps, so thats not the problem,
The real problem is that of, uranium bundles, we can't export them as easily as we would do with thorium, because we ourselves import a lot of uranium

we know how good our reactors are the whole world doesnt. let the reactors complete cons. and operate safely and efficiently for atleast 5 yrs. then countries will 100% show interest. before noone will even consider our reactors.

Well sir, I have heard, the chairman of NPCIL say that they can very well export the indian phwrs, and he considers them very safe
The main problem lies with export of uranium bundles as we ourselves are low on uranium

well once ahwr becomes reality the need for uranium in india will decrease, and its one of a kind reactor so we can expect this reactor to be a hit.

no i am saying ahwr is the third stage of indian nuclear program. once the 3 stage cycle become reality. wait and watch our reactors are gonaa be in hige demand.

The AHWRs are all experimental. The power generated won't be commercially viable. They are very very complex reactors and one of it's kind in the world. AHWRs will actually lay the foundation of our final and 3rd stage of nuclear power generation cycle.

TBH, even our stage 2 tech hasn't matured that much.

There's already one with Russia.

What they selling and blowing papers?

are you translating from chinese using google translate? use a better software.

many of your posts are turning meaningless .... watch out.

If you guys want to talk about Indians nuclear achievements and massage each others egos please start another thread, the final point is Bangladesh has already bought/signed contracts for reactors with Russia.

We can't and won't buy such items from India, we are looking to South Korea for further reactors, 2 more 1000mw-1200mw, this negotiation is so we don't rely exclusively on one source, Russia. But I hope you guys continue with your developments and continue massaging each others egos.

Enjoy...

Whatever, we are not even exporting them in first case.
