China Claims Air Supremacy With Its New J-20 Stealth Fighter

"Being designed to" does not necessarily equate to "being able to".

The MiG-25 was "designed to" take on the F-15C. How did that work out?

Wrong MIG-25 was designed to shoot down SR-71 and XB-70 Valkyrie, it was a pure Interceptor. When the MIG-25 was around the F-15 didn't even exist yet, it was the F-15 that was designed to take on the MIG-25 based on false information that the MIG-25 was some super Mach 3 dog fighter. So you got it backwards.

PS. SU-27 was designed to take on the F-15 and we all know how that worked out.:D:D

Yikes, I got my dates wrong. :P

Anyways, planes like the MiG-29 were in fact designed as a counterweight to the F-15 and F-16. However, did these ever achieve their goal? The Iraqi pilots that manned them were massacred by the highly maneuverable and electronically advanced F-15s during the Gulf Wars.

Different Su-27s have different capabilities. The basic Su-27s, even though possessing a highly maneuverable airframe, is nowhere near the F-15C in terms of radar, sensors, engines, and weapons packages. Even planes like the Su-27SK do not possess an advantage when pitted with the F-15C.

US Air Force's F-22 Fleet Grounded -- News Roundup
Grounded: The U.S. Air Force has stopped all flights of the F-22 while its oxygen fault is investigated

U.S. Halts Flights Of Its Premier F-22 Raptor After Fault In Oxygen Supply To Pilots -- The Daily Mail

* Malfunction fears see 165-plane fleet grounded

The U.S. Air Force has been forced to ground its advanced F-22 Raptor fighter aircrafts due to faults in the plane's oxygen supply to pilots.

Officials issued an order on Tuesday to stop flying the jets 'until further notice' after reports of 'oxygen system malfunctions.'

The aircraft, described as 'the world's most advanced fighter jet', will now be investigated so crews can 'safely accomplish their missions'.

MEANS CHINESE J-20 LEADING BEST STEALTH FIGHTER BY FAR IN THE WORLD

Yeah I seem to recall reading this was the case. The pentagon hyped up the capabilities of the MiG-25 and the F-15 was a counter/based on the same concept.

They got massacred not because the MIG-29 was bad, but because Iraq pilots were very bad, and also because the MIG-29 they had was downgraded. For example the East German pilots flying the MIG-29 with Helmet mounted display smoked the F-15 and F-16 in mock battles, and back in 1980s it would be suicide for a NATO pilot too get into a dogfight with SU-27 armed with R-73 missile which was way advanced for its time.

You also have to take into account of the fact that the MIG 29 was designed to operate under the Soviet defence system. A small country like Iraq could never operate the MIGs as effectively as the Soviets.

Well, that's may be true. But we will have to wait till 2018 to find out.
don't worry Chinese have good record of completing work
not like russian last week it was hear that fgfa still is on paper and indian can't get it on time

Also no AWACS for Iraq.
