To tell the truth, your small country like Vietnam and Pillpines, we dont even bother to give you a glance. dont make noise to get our attention. you are nothing in the world arena.

I believe the US is interested in, if not exactly ASEAN, than a similar partnership to ASEAN.

Conceivably it would involve most if not all of the South Asian states along with Australia,Japan, Korea, and probably India...maybe New Zealand?

Or it might be something smaller, but the existence of the TPP does indicate there is interest for a Pacific partnership of some sorts imo.

lol, i was talking about ASEAN per se, not Asian-Pacific situation as a whole, US would certainly engage in Asia politics but they also need to look after the Pacific Neighbor

That's what i was thinking, if they engage in ASEAN, they will certainly left out ANZUS pact member as well as SK and Japan. ASEAN is too small

US would want to engage in bigger picture but not mirco-politics, something like APEC is more into US liking

Ignore those Flipinos, their air force only has 5 Fighters in service.

BTW,When you guys back to Huang Yan Island?

Yes, Vietnamese customs officers consider all of new e-passports as rubbish and stamp all them "invalid" sign!
Chinese visitors can throw their passports into a nearby rubbish bin.

SO if the passport and visa become invalid, are they gonna get set back or still allowed to enter Vietnam??

50 decades?huh, and how about Aksai chin and who cried first?

China so desperately wants Arunachal, that they keep including it in their maps. Well it ain't gonna happen without a fight, same goes for Aksai Chin. I personally am satisfied with the status quo, and towards stabilization of the region.

US says does not endorse new China map in its passport

WASHINGTON: The US today said it does not endorse the new "controversial" Chinese map on its passport which depicts certain disputes territories as its own, causing a major diplomatic row in the region including with India.

"No, it is not an endorsement. Our position, as you know on the South China Sea continues to be that these issues need to be negotiated among the stakeholders, among ASEAN and China, and you know a picture on a passport doesn't change that," State Department spokesperson, Victoria Nuland, told reporters at her daily news conference.

Responding to questions on this issue, Nuland said her understanding is that there are certain basic international standards that have to be met in a passport.

"You know stray maps that they include aren't part of it," she said.

"As a technical legal matter, that map doesn't have any bearing on whether the passport is valid for US visa issuance or for entry into the United States...," she said.

"I'm not sure whether we've had a chance to have that discussion with the Chinese, frankly, the first time this issue came to the attention of some of us was over the weekend when the passports started being rejected in various countries," she said.

"So presumably from the perspective that it is considered provocative by some of those countries, we'll have a conversation about it, but in terms of the technical issue of whether the passport is...," she said.

"I would expect that we'll probably have a conversation about the fact that this is considered difficult by some of the countries," Nuland said.

Who asked US for endorsement? Looks like US is self proclaiming its importance.

China is fast becoming the most hated country in the world. Like a rude juvenile who has found itself wallowing in great wealth but lacks the good manners and right conduct required to deal with its law-abiding neighbors. This greedy invader is now using fake maps and fake history. They want to expand more and more. They are no different from squatters. The only difference is, the squatters acknowledge if they're squatting. The Chinese won't. They'll try to claim it for themselves - sheer arrogance as its best.

Hopefully in the end, it will soon backfire to them and in due time, China's belligerence will be met with the combined military might of US, Japan,South Korea, India, Australia, New Zealand and most ASEAN countries. The power of the pack will whip the bully back to its knees and the result will be an independent Tibet, independent East Turkestan, independent Inner Mongolia, independent Taiwan and independent Hong Kong.

Yeah, we fear the Yankees so much until we overtake their position.

Guess what? We play the weak game with US and in reality the US is busy with Iraq and Afghan and debts, see the brilliant strategy of us? Maybe we will take your land, maybe not, maybe we used you as a trap to lure the US. Well, one arrow two, three, four five birds. You stupid people will never realize the master mind of China. We confronted the US, not small countries like you.

Our great leader said China should wait a hundred years. Well, maybe we are just playing with you and US and waiting for the right time, but both of you will be dead meats

Just some usual tricks and you react like big business, let see what happens when China using her real muscles.
