China Saudi India tops IPSOS report on social cohesion and social trust by country

Saw a twitter, found these from IPSOS website.

Why there is such contrast between China and Japan, SK on social cohesion.

I will take a guess - countries where general population cares less about politics and just occupies themselves on making their lives better will tend to be more happy. Look at China and Saudi, you know only a handful of people are involved in active politics. Govt can do long term planning and this is also evident in lack of social unrest we witness in almost every other country.

Politics and religion are the major cause for internal conflicts.

Agree on politics, some thoughts.

1. Economic growth / stability

Poland scores low while having great economic growth over last 30 years.

2. Homogenous / Heterogenous society

Seemingly no effect on scores. I suspect people hide their views due to political correctness in western heterogenous society.

3. Multi party / One party politics

Russia and Japan had default one party rule for decades, especially Japan, maybe I didn't hear much.
