China’s Exports stunningly surged 23% while growth in imports slowed in March 2023

China didn't wait for the west to decouple from China, China is decoupling from the west first.

Not exactly a good sign. That means domestic consumption is weak.
Commodity prices have fallen. And Chinese chips are gradually becoming domestically produced.

Domestic demand is not bad, I feel like it has returned to the level before the outbreak began.

Don’t forget Africa and Latin America.

Btw noticed that trade with the west is decreasing while trade with Vietnam is galloping ahead. Clearly many Chinese exports to Vietnam is being rerouted to the west just like how India is repackaging Russian fuel at a markup. No wonder inflation is sky high.
