What's new

count down to zero

Dude calm down...

They have reasons for raising concerns against our nukes :

1. AQ Khan did proliferation and transfer of nuclear weapons tech at the largest scale ever...providing it to North Korea and Libya (which is true)
2. Pakistan is a victim of terrorism.Although our nukes haven't met a single accident and they are among the most secured in the world, still US and other countries raise concerns because our military installations (GHQ,Mehran Naval Base) get attacked once in a while.
3. Pakistan has the greatest rate of building nuclear weapons in the world in 2011.

blah blah blah, didnt US gave nukes to europe??, pakistan has been terrorist hit so what??? those terrorists can steal our nukes even uncle sam has admitted that, who makes terrorist, isnt it america who made all these terrorists??

AQ khan didnt go proliferation alone, pakistan military had ful knowledge of what he was doing, so what we sold our secrets to others, didnt AQ khan said once, these western companies can sell anything even their mothers to get the money, most of the suppliers of sensitive technology were these western companies

hasnt america signed civil nuclear deal with india?? isnt it proleferation, what america helps india when it knows that india is a very dangerous country with nukes

I'm telling about their point of view...

I fully agree with your post...

1. USZ have also given nukes to no nuke states, So what it has to do with the security of their own nukes?
2. we can assume that on 9/11 the terrorists have ditched the Super Power and all it's state of the art security systems, their intelligence and defense systems and attacked on Pentagon, So their Nukes are not safe as well?
3. Do you have any proves that Pakistan has greatest rate of building nukes? all the news you will find are the guesses not accurate information and this is the proof that our nukes are more secure.

A plutonium nuke is MUCH harder than a uranium nuke, as the Pu cannot be crafted into a "gun" weapon; instead, it needs to be imploded, a much harder thing to do.

And to make a uranium gun weapon like "Little Boy" requires very highly enriched uranium 235, as close to 100% as you can get. Uranium fuel for a nuclear power plant is something like 35% IIRC, and cannot be made into a nuke. To separate the U-235 and purify it requires centrifuges or other exotic equipment. It's not easy, and it's hard to hide.

But once you have enough U-235, you can make a nuke. It might not yield like Hiroshima, but with makeshift components, I think you'd get significant yield.

Look at the components in Little Boy - nothing particularly difficult or exotic:

^^^ Agreed. The hardest part is obtaining the HEU.No HEU,no terrorist nuke.

pakistan has presumably plutonium weapons....so much difficult for terrorists to make a weapon out if it.

No...we are shifting towards the Plutonium based bombs...still almost half of the stockpile consists of HEU based weapons.

Just watched it. The last 20 mins are something all the war-mongers should see.

Yes! U absolutely right the common terrorists can't make weapon out of any fissile material cuz it need special training knowledge and highly advanced tools to assemble the Nukes.....
yea! but in a situation like Raymond Davis or CIA running the training camps for special training and providinng them with all kinds of materials and support to the so called terrorists......yes its a very easy job then.....
thats the reason CIA alongwith (RAW and MI6) is running the secret terrorist training camps within the tribal areas of Afghanistan or Pakistan.........So guyz becareful then....

Dr AQ khan was only accused of giving designs for centrifuges..other than that he wasnt accused of anything..
in past every nuclear states scientist have been involved in proliferation..infact US was involved in lost of nuclear material too.

how do you think so many nuclear states came into being if US would have kept it to themselves...probably USSR would have been able to do so..but others were purly due to proliferation.

oh you leaked out the method of creating nuclear weapon :P

www.en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Countdown_to_Zero

just watched this documentary on a tv channel....its about the growing threat of a nuclear attack on major world cities..They show interviews of experts and previous world leaders such as Gorbachev of USSR,tony Blair of UK and such.
The last ten minutes are almost dedicated to Pakistan....
They say that its so easy to make a nuclear bomb that students can make it from off the shelf components abundantly available to public.....The only thing that stops it from happening is that fissile material is out of reach of public.
The day 25 kilos of enriched uranium falls into the wrong hand...they can go to the supermarket buy some parts and kaboom...they will make and detonate a nuke.
My question is...is it true?
is making a nuclear bomb really that easy?
if it is then why every country in the world hasnt got a stockpile...why countries test their weapons again and again...
If its difficult then why?

Let me dedicate a minute to US.
2007 United States Air Force nuclear weapons incident - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

:lol:They talk about 25 kilo of enriched uranium falls into the wrong hands, here we have complete weapons ready and transported. I would not be surprised if they labelled it an incident perhaps US planned to keep nuclear weapons in taiwan against China for readiness.
