Diamer-Bhasha : Pakistani diaspora excited to donate for dams

Not to be offensive or against anyone. But may i add that technically Pakistan Sold out Water of Ravi Satluj and Bias to India in Return of Donated money from World bank for preparation of Tarbela and Mangla Dams and all those link canals you see.
Those dams where not made by Pakistan Govt. Even India Paid for the grants in those dams funds.
Anyways those are things of the past. No need to discuss them now. If we want to analyze history then we should not be selective. Ayub khan was the reason we took polar opposite side against Soviet union instead of being Independent (U2 Spy Plane Incident). Relationships with India became deteriorated beyond repair due to Mismanagement in the same period. He brought Yahya kahn in power like country was his to be decided to handed over to anyone her desired. Yahya Khan and Bangladesh chapter is for everyone to read what happened. Bhutto Destroyed Pakistani Economy by Experimenting with Socialism Politicizing State Institutions Political Victimization. General Zia ul Haq gave us the Gift of terrorism and extremism that we are still being victim of. NS and BB gave ou Taliban mess in Afghanistan.
We are all collectively responsible for this mess we are in. But one thing is for sure. The amount of power and autonomy Army rulers enjoyed in their rule, Civilians were never nearly as powerful rulers in our history.

Easy part? Don’t think so, certainly not the amount required.

Actually, relatively speaking, raising funds will be the easy part. The real issues with the dams lie elsewhere and they will be harder to deal with if and when the time comes.

True words. The failure is national and thus collective.

I disagree. I thought the amount collected so far (saw a figure on another thread)amounted to some $25-26 million. That for a dam supposed to cost $14 billion. For this particular dam, given its location and the fact that the land required has already been acquired; the funds will be the main issue. For dams like Kalabagh, I agree with you.

It is okay to disagree with me. Let us wait and see what happens. The dam will remain unlikely due to many other reasons, but they arise further down the road, so let the present fervor continue. It is good for the national morale for a while.

Far be it for a humble ignorant Indian to post in this thread, but have there been ever a case in modern history where big infrastructure projects have been build by Charity? It just looks like a crude money grubbing exercise by the powers that be .
You also never see nuclear plant of different parts gives you Nuclear bomb. Pakistan is unique character which is way beyond your mind can understand

We are new in democracy. No prime minister has ever completed its term. It will take some time to get fruits of democracy. Democracy is the only way to move forward. This is not duty of army to control government and run country affairs. History tells We achieved nothing during marshal law in 70 years history.
As we new in democracy, it will take some time to get fruits.
Democracy may be new and yes it would take some time to mature.
But this system has to change. This current British colonial parliamentary system cannot work in Pakistan.
The major cause is this system.
We need a presidential type system.
Don't know why people oppose it.
It is utter stupidity to follow the same method again and again and fail.

Actually the measure of parliamentary democracy isn't that if a PM has completed its term, more accurate measure is if the govt has completed it term or not. In Australia we havn't had a PM complete his/her term for atleast 3 or 4 previous government. Just a couple of weeks ago Australia had a new PM while in the middle of the tenure. But no one says that democracy is in danger here, its actually considered part of democracy to change PMs with in the same govt term. I think the last Australian PM that completed his full term was John Howard when he lost the elections back in 2007.
