ISLAMABAD: The leadership of the Difa-e-Pakistan Council on Saturday warned the government to refrain from restoring supplies to Nato forces.

The Difa-e-Pakistan Council met here with Maulana Samiul Haq in the chair. The meeting was also attended by Jamaat-e-Islami (JI) Amir Syed Munawwar Hasan, Hafiz Muhammad Saeed and Abdul Rehman Makki of the Jamaat-ud-Daawa, Sheikh Rashid Ahmad of the Awami Muslim League, Lt General (retd) Hamid Gul and others.

The council’s leaders unanimously decided to launch a countrywide movement if any decision to restore Nato supplies was taken.

They observed that acts of terrorism and drone attacks had been reduced since the suspension of supplies for Nato disallowing activities of CIA agents in Pakistan.

Hafiz Saeed strongly condemned the government’s act of giving Most Favourite Nation (MFN) status to India, saying there should be no trade with India at any level till the resolution of the Kashmir issue. He said the United States was also pressuring Pakistan to allow trade route to India up to Afghanistan.

Syed Munawwar Hasan said the economic crisis and law and order situation in the country had deteriorated since Pakistan jumped into the so-called war on terror. “Pakistan’s problems cannot be resolved unless it comes out of this war which is meant to serve the interests of America,” he said.

Sheikh Rashid said the second National Difa-e-Pakistan Conference would be staged at Liaquat Bagh Rawalpindi on January 22 which would be addressed by central leaders of the council. The first council was held in Lahore, last month.

The council would also organise a conference in Muzaffarabad on February 5 to express solidarity with the people of Kashmir.

Actually, ironically the view of many Pakistanis on PDF is more or less similar to that of a man who heads a banned terrorist outfit - LeT.

They're too late. Pakistan restored them but you have to pay taxes.
