Pakistan’s military chief warned the Afghan Taliban on Friday of an “effective response” by his forces if they fail to stop harboring militants who plot cross-border attacks from Afghanistan.

The stern remarks by the army chief, Gen. Asim Munir, came after two militant attacks this week killed 12 Pakistani soldiers in the country’s southwestern Balochistan province, which borders Afghanistan.

During a military meeting Friday in Quetta, the capital of Balochistan, Munir paid tribute to the fallen soldiers. Seven attackers were also killed by troops returning fire during the attacks on Wednesday.

Both the Pakistani Taliban, a separate militant group that is also an ally of the Afghan Taliban, and the extremist Islamic State group have a presence in Balochistan.

However, a newly formed militant group Tehreek-e-Jihad Pakistan claimed responsibility for one of Wednesday’s attacks. That attack, in the Zhob district, left nine soldiers dead. It was unclear who was behind the other attack, in the Sui district, which killed three soldiers.

The Taliban-run government in Kabul did not immediately respond to the Pakistani general’s remarks.

Munir was quoted as saying that Pakistan’s armed forces were seriously concerned about the “safe havens and liberty of action” the Pakistani Taliban have in Afghanistan. He said he expects the Afghan Taliban to live up to their promises from a 2020 agreement with Washington to bar any terror group from using Afghan soil for attacks.

If they fail to do so, these “intolerable attacks would draw an effective response,” he said.

Along with the Pakistani Taliban and ISIS militants, local Baluch separatist also have a strong presence in the gas-rich Baluchistan. The province has been the scene of a low-level insurgency by nationalists for two decades. They initially wanted a higher share of the provincial resources, but later initiated an insurgency for independence.

Along with the Baluch separatists, the Pakistani Taliban — the outlawed Tehreek-e-Taliban Pakistan or TTP — have claimed responsibility for most of the attacks on Pakistani troops and police in the province.

The TTP has become emboldened since the Afghan Taliban seized power in Afghanistan in August 2021 as U.S. and NATO troops were in the final stages of their pullout from the country after 20 years of war.

You could start by busting your Indian raw cells operating from chabhar. that would be a good start from Iran . And Leave the Kabul and Taliban to Pakistan will sort them out they will need to be bringing back to earth shortly

Iran should leverage its farsi cultural heritage to create an understanding and common grounds of the Tajik community of Afghanistan with Pakistan.

Tajikistan is not happy with the Taliban, Turkey also supports the Uzbekhs and Turkman, Iran wants inclusive government.
Only Pakistan won't allow anyone else to come forward

Pakistan too wants an inclusive Gov who told you we won’t. The problem is not with us Pakistanis okay, these puppet’s of rivalries countries you mentioned are the ones history of stirring trouble with us Pakistanis when they get into Kabul. And they do this policy based on receiving help from your enemies so stay in power.

Cowards can only warn. Pakistani generals created Taliban and and the same Taliban are now shitting on their face. As you sow, so shall you reap.

Iran is an independent state, no one is allowed to operate from Iranian soil. By your retarded standards, Iran has allowed Mossad to have a base in Iran which led to assassination of Iranian scientists. Those incidents are not coordinated and happens rarely. The only free for all country in our region is UAE, most of Indian spies operate from there. Iran, Israel, USA, Europe they all have their own operatives in UAE. Before Erdogan, Turkey was in a similar position, it still has some degree of it too.

I have always said, Pakistan cannot handle it single handedly. It needs regional cooperation, first to help Kabul control foreign funded groups and secondly to operate inside Afghanistan. That border has turned into a redline.

Obviously, borders with Afghanistan are the most insecure borders of Pakistan. For too many reasons. For example, foreign hands were involved in financing different groups which defined them with different loyalties and different leaders.

Pakistan and Iran need more cooperation in this case. People know what im talking about, hope it takes shape.

There was a time in the 70s when Pak-Iranian forces conducted joint operations in the baloch border regions of the 2 nations. In many operations SSG/Iranian special forces teamed up and were supported by Cobra gunships from both nations. Operations were conducted in both Iranian and Pakistan balochistan. At one time in the 70s BLA was almost completely destroyed and relocated to Afghanistan were they were safe under Soviet protection.

Unfortunately today there is no such cooperation between Pakistan and Iran. There is significant mistrust between the 2 nations because of Irans harboring of Allah Nazir (Baloch Terrorist Leader) and other top Baloch militant and Pakistan preceived harbouring of Jandullah terrorist. I hope that with the recent visit of COAS to Tehran there can be a greater cooperation between the two militaries in conducting joint operations in Balochistan.

Some of the steps Iran can take right away would be to arrest Allah Nazir and his associates and turn him over to Pakistan. Likewise Pakistan should also take action against Jandullah terrorist based off of Iranian intelligence.

Such cooperation should not be limited to joint operations and should also consister of Intelligence cooperation, space cooperation, military technology transfers, etc...

Eventually once trust and joint synergy is is built between the 2 Islamic Republic forces im all for Pakistan-Iranian joint military operations in Afghanistan to dismantle terrorist groups

The ironic fit here is the article link brought into the post due to copy paste which read “Mother gets 99 years after mutilating son’s genitals”

How metaphorically appropriate

Negligible compared to Indian and western parking of whatever shit you call it.
ofcourse, everything about you guys is negligible.
except sanctuary for ex-dictators.
Guess where Musharaf spent his last days.
Guess where you guys cannot wait to go to, to have CABINET level meetings

Don't mean to be rough but you guys must ask yourself how ridiculous it is if zardari and sheriefs and other leaders and ministers travel to Dubai to have your ministerial meetings.
