An Indian Border Security Force (BSF) personnel had apparently entered into Bangladesh territory in a drunken state and was later handed over to the Indian side following a flag meeting held in this connection today, Border Guard Bangladesh (BGB) said.

The incident took place at Chandhikari border area in Bholahaat upazila of Chapainawabganj, reports our local correspondent.

The BSF personnel was found around 50 yards inside the Bangladesh territory near the border pillar around 12noon, said Lt Col Mahmudul Hasan, commander of BGB 59 Battalion in Chapainawabganj.

The BSF man was found in a drunken and unstable condition, the BGB official said.

He was later handed over to BSF 44 Battalion later around 6:15pm following a flag meeting between the two border security forces at commander level, Lt Col Mahmudul Hasan said at a briefing this evening.

The BGB official, however, did not reveal the name of the BSF personnel.

Second part of the news wasn't shared intentionally to not cause further embarrassment to Bangladesh clearly states that a Bangladeshi drug trader was engaged by the BSF, and drugs were found alongside him.

Neutralization of these drug traders by the BSF have become commonplace, and has the blessings of their friendly PM Sheikh Hasina. She knows that the corrupt to the core BGB is inefficient in taking on the drug smugglers, and she needs Indian help to overcome the menace.

We wish Bangladesh the very best in their fight against drug trade, and will play our part by killing their drug traders who come to India to spread their filth.

Dearest sir, second bit was omitted because it's nothing new and irrelevant in this case.

BSF drinking on duty ? Boo!

Serving the country is a sacred task, even more so when it comes guarding the frontiers.

Poor working conditions for BSF, basic rations, poor pay and lack of services are all pushing these sorry lads into the corner, they have now taken to the bottle to vent their frustration.

Is this how India treats their soldiers and border guards as expendable rags ?

Last time BSF members intruded into Bangladesh, one poor soul went to the funeral pyre with a headshot and multiple others were badly injured. This man is lucky, he didn't meet a similar fate, if BGB decided to shoot him, there isn't a thing big wigs in Delhi could have done.

Two different brands of humanity set apart by 200 yards, on one side you get welcomed and on other side you get shot for even looking at the border fence.

One side shoots unarmed women and children; civilians and while the other welcomes you.

Don't overstay the welcome though, I'm not one who espouses violence but it is like you've said before, border intrusions will result in swift lethal action.

So it's best Delhi keeps BSF on a leash, next one to intrude won't be lucky, he will be dispatched to the great beyond, perhaps he can meet Vijay Bhab Singh there.

A lie propagated by the BGB to cover up for their dereliction of duty. It is your BGB's job to apprehend the drug smugglers and criminals coming to India from your side.

The point has been raised in joint meetings in various capacities from our side, and your country has admitted to the lacunae that exists in your border enforcement.

you get shot
You must understand that we are actually doing you a favour by eliminating your drug traders and criminals, it is a natural extension of the various gunfights that happen regularly across the length and breadth of your country. Drug trade and illegal smuggling is problematic for both our countries, and your very capable PM has finally woken up to it in the last couple of years.

Shoot smugglers, okay.

Thanks for helping us in population control.

We helped you too last year, sent one straight to the great beyond whilst maiming another, this one was lucky.

If you ever need help with population control, send some over and have them intrude our borders, we promise Headshots; quick and painless.

I have a genuine query though, why is BSF chock-full of North Indians and poor Bimarus ? Where are the South Indians, Bengalis and NE Indians ?

Don't they want to die for the country ? I'm curious to know.

From what I've heard, punishments were meted out to those guilty of the unilateral act of violence.

This ranting about is quite useless. We understand that some well-meaning patriotic Bangladeshis are ashamed and aggrieved when their criminals are apprehended or neutralized at the International Border trying to trespass into India illegally. But, these things are for our greater good, of both countries, to safeguard the future of our next generation.

One recent story only a few months ago when 5 of our RAB members entered India by mistake somewhere in Tripura. They were badly beaten by the BSF drunkards.
