Elon Musk launches 2 astronauts in 7 man capable Dragon

space x and elon musk are no different than lockeed martin, boeing and raytheon who are incorporated under custody and support of u.s military and establishment for purpose of fulfillment of their security needs and they are not regarded as independent corporations, elon musk is a good manager but all human resource and support is provided by nasa, without supervision and support of nasa and govt agencies he could not carryout such projects
Seriously why is your posts always about Zionists???

Zionists this and that lay off the conspiracy theories. Give credit where its due the Americans are way ahead in the space race.

Elon Musk achieved something very great. The man is like the nikola tesla of our times.

You are an idiot for missing the main point of my post...read it again.

Copy/paste has it own benefits...yes but key ingredient "Innovation" is what made the US...Superpower.

Well likewise to you as I never refute the fact you mention in your reply :woot:.

with increase in spacex missions there is corresponding decrease in nasa rocket launches so it is not extraordinary thing as nasa has transferred their facilities to spacex

No offense. But from your posts it seems you don't regularly follow space.

NASA has stopped manned missions from longtime. Instead they were outsourcing it to Russians for higher costs. Same goes for the Shuttle program, its been years NASA is on the back foot due to financial reasons. No under the table support for SpaceX instead you will find some NASA lovers to be hating SpaceX. All there were fans, haters and skeptics. NASA only awarded contracts to SpaceX for lower-cost solutions and SpaceX was about to go bankrupt along with Elon in the process.

Those mocking Russia and China here know very well that SpaceX has actually brought embarrassment to NASA. On any article, video or forums of space enthusiasts you will find people especially Americans questioning/mocking what NASA has been doing all these years with a much larger funding. You'll find people pointing out incompetence and corruption in NASA to be the cause of it. NASA should be ahead of SpaceX with its experience of decades, much larger funding and having the access to same resources and minds as SpaceX.

You won't find people mocking Russia/China outside this little defence universe. Because they don't have same funding, experience and knowledge as US.

in theory NASA should be. But NASA is a state run entity subject to whims of politicians. manned space travel is not the highest priority

the situation of china is much different as compared to u.s and russia, china is banned by u.s for joint operations and their astronauts are not allowed to visit space station that is major reason why china has less number of manned missions and they will first develop their own space station for homing manned missions, their manned mission will become frequent once they are able to develop their own space station, china is also developing space program on their own unlike other nations and u.s has strictly banned their access to their space research institutes so it is very difficult for them as compared to spacex to make progress as spacex has open access to all technology and know how of nasa.
Companies like space x are purposely promoted in u.s so they are able to attract finances from investors and they work on project basis without requirement to hire permanent employees and then payment of pensions to them like govt organisations such as nasa, all this helps them to save high finance for research and development and timely completion of projects. This concept is not new in u.s as all of their military hardware manufacturing corporations like Lockheed Martin,Boeing ,Raeython are following spacex like model and are very successful in developing cutting edged technology weapons in less times and in mass numbers

Ah...well they said that about the Falcon 9 landing successfully after repeated landing explosions

Now it's:
https://www.npr.org/2020/03/07/813214937/spacex-successfully-lands-50th-rocket-in-5-years
SpaceX Successfully Lands 50th Rocket In 5 Years

The Starship will launch. A rocket this large is uncharted territory. They will work it out.

We aren't worried.

And it looks like the latest explosion was due to the ground support equipment not the SN4 itself. This is about a 3-4 week setback. SN5 and 6 are ready to go.

I not think that company like spacex is so ignorant that they allow faulty ground support instrument to destroy such expensive spaceship, there is some major problem with rocket engine, they might be using extra powerful engine which is resulting spaceship unable to withhold heat or vibrations

Yep
Elon Musk launches 2 astronauts in 7 man capable Dragon embarrassing US/Russia/China space programs

The Russians are using a 1960's era Soyuz craft with no known future ambitions. However we can cut them some slack for probably having a much reduced budget and staff since their good old days. Same with NASA with funding cuts. The days of $300M Space Shuttle launches are over.

However the Chinese Space program is huge compared to SpaceX's few thousand employees and limited budget. After 17 years they have only launched a small number of people into space with a modified 3 man Russian Soyuz design. Luckily they had their first launch last month of a new bigger manned craft so that will save them a bit. Although SpaceX has been flying their Dragon unmanned since 2010 testing reusability integrity. With SpaceX's recent manned launch the Chinese manned program is now in catch-up mode with capabilities.

So now it is SpaceX on top. Elon Musk may go rogue and become a James Bond/Superman villain.

I think the success of SpaceX shows the great efficiency and ingenuity of private American enterprise in contrast to the complete incompetence and dysfunction of American government.

Well in fairness to NASA, their robotic exploration of the Solar System is way WAY ahead of what anyone else is doing. That’s been a huge success and looks like it will remain so.

NASA has had incredible achievements. But the last 10-15 years have been very lackluster.
