KABUL: Following the bloodiest month for foreign troops stationed in Afghanistan, foreign officials announce the death of four more US-led soldiers in the war-ravaged country.

Senior US military officials in Kabul confirmed that three American troops were killed on Saturday when a roadside explosion ripped through an army convoy in the troubled southern Kandahar Province.

More than two hundred foreign soldiers have been killed in Afghanistan this year.

A Saturday statement by the French military confirms that a French soldier was also killed in deadly clashes with Taliban militants north of Kabul. Two other soldiers were wounded in the clashes.

Deaths among US-led NATO troops have also soared this year, particularly in the insurgency-hit southern and eastern provinces where deadly fighting is ongoing.

Seventy-four foreign troops -- including 43 Americans -- have so far been killed in militant attacks across Afghanistan during the five past weeks.

July was the deadliest month for international forces since the invasion of Afganistan in 2001

U.S. recently announced they will no longer gives body counts. however up to that point since the beginning of 2009 Taliban deaths are about 2310:usflag::usflag::usflag::usflag: and still have 5 more months to raise that count

actually that's a separate count.

The United Nations released a report on Friday showing civilian deaths are up 24 per cent through the first six months of 2009, compared to the same period. The main killers of civilians, the UN said, were the suicide attacks and roadside bombings employed by the Taliban and other "anti-government" fighters. According to the report, 595 of the 1013 civilian deaths were the result of Taliban and insurgent action, compared to 310 killed by Afghan and international military forces. During the first six months of last year, the civilian death tally stood at 818.

Somehow I had a feeling you would say something like that. If you knew anything you would know the United Nations is no fan of the U.S. being in Iraq or Afghanistan. And they are always critical of Israel.
