Elon Musk's company Starlink Internet Services has officially registered itself with the Securities and Exchange Commission of Pakistan (SECP) to provide internet services in Pakistan through satellite.


According to a statement issued by the Ministry of IT and Telecommunication on Monday, SpaceX Director for Global Licensing and Market Activation Ryan Goodnight met Pakistan's Federal Minister for Information Technology and Telecommunication Syed Aminul Haq to discuss the registration of SpaceX's Starlink.

The meeting was held to explore how Starlink's quickest and least expensive satellite internet services could open the door for reasonably priced broadband services throughout Pakistan.

The minister expressed the optimism that even in remote areas Starlink's services could significantly lower the operational costs of telecom operators.

Yes, easier said than done. Your entire West Pakistan was against giving Mujeeb the mandate so let's not talk about "decision of the majority". There were regular delegations of politicians, businessmen, industrialists going to Yahya and saying "please save Pakistan by not letting the East Pakistani rule". The newspapers of the day were loaded with Op-eds calling for West to assert itself. Point being, there was intense pressure on Yahya from Bhutto and then all of these others (whose interests were at stake if Mujeeb were to rule).

as to your first point actions speak louder than words, if you instill such a fear that people cant even name you, and call you khalai makhlooqm, namaloom, muqtadar halqay anytime your unwanted involvement is suspected, you may not be verbally claiming but your actions claim that you are "yeh mulk hamara hai tum bloody civilians ho khaw makhaw is mein"

Just a minor correction. Under the self-proclaimed Field Marshall Ayub Khan, pressure was building up between the East and the West, and he hand-picked Yahya Khan at the last minute to catch the falling knife. While Yahya Khan was a good soldier, he was no seasoned politician and only did what he knew in his capacity. Lesson: Sometimes a person needs to think, staring at the chair if it's the right time, power is enticing, but it can also be deadly to those sitting on it.

Ayub himself played the aurat religious card of Fatima, and he's on record, even in his book, being racist against the Bengalis. So one could say there was underlining racial tension, and rather than correcting course, they dug a deeper hole.
